Holding up the Word

Posted on Monday 7 January 2008

It’s been in the news, the details on a large poster that is being plastered up in Jerusalem by Israelis who hope it will either be glimpsed by President George W. Bush as his motorcade sweeps through the capital Wednesday and Thursday, or that at least someone will tell him about it.

The poster shows a large Bible superimposed over the city of Jerusalem. At the top it says, “Bush, Read Your Bible” followed by the words, “God Gave Israel To The Jews.”

It is a message being proclaimed by a number of people in this land.

The Director of Public Relations for Yeshivat Kiryat Arba, Gary Cooperberg, says in his latest “A Voice from Hebron” newsletter: “Were Bush truly a G-d fearing man, never mind a “friend” of Israel, he would never dare suggest that Israel divide her homeland.

“Such a stance is in direct conflict with the Will of G-d,” he continues, adding that unless Bush “rewrites his ‘roadmap’ to coincide with that of the Bible, his efforts will only result in tragedy… not peace.”

And in what they termed a “Public Statement of Alarm,” Christian Zionists Jan Willem van der Hoeven - the director of the Israel-based International Christian Zionist Center - and Stan Goodenough (Jerusalem Newswire) called upon Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to “cease forthwith your attempt to placate Israel’s enemies with a 23rd state of their own, thereby facilitating the demise of this young courageous nation…”

These leaders, the statement reads, need to see what they are doing “in the light of God’s warning to the nations through His prophet Joel that He will one day bring them to judgment for dividing the land He repeatedly vowed to give to just one nation” - Israel.

What use, one must wonder, can there be in holding political leaders to account by telling them what God says and what is written in the Bible? Is it realistic, or fair even?

Prime Minister Olmert does not claim to be - nor does he live as - a believing/ religious/ observant Jew. President Bush professes a Christian faith and is reported to read his Bible and pray daily.

But while these men may be differently positioned in the field of faith, they operate in more or less the same political realm, a realm in which the Bible finds increasingly little resonance indeed.

How much value then, can there be in challenging them with what it says?

For those of us who believe the Bible, much in every way. The Bible is the Truth. It is not simply a library or collection of truths. It is THE truth.

Secular politicians and journalists often dismiss their Bible-believing colleagues as lacking objectivity or being extremist or fundamentalist. But to those whose starting point is the Word of God, it is the secularists who have moved the goalposts of objectivity away from what is real and what is true.

That truth stands, and no matter how modern or post-modern society might have become, the truth is the truth is the truth. We need to proclaim it and declare it from the rooftops or, in this case, from Jerusalem’s walls.

This is what the Bible says; what God Himself says:

“…I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” (Genesis 17:7-8)

And concerning Abraham’s offspring, this warning comes from the Bible; directly from the mouth of God:

“… I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
(Genesis 12:3)

Notice how God words this: He will bless THOSE who bless Abraham’s children, but He will curse HIM - the one - who curses them.

This is a frightening warning to any individual who endangers or hurts the children of Abraham. (Those who hold that the Arab people are also children of Abraham need to remember God’s emphatic statement of choice that “in Isaac your seed shall be called.” Genesis 21:12)

And the warnings to the nations that come against Israel are every bit as emphatic:

“…I will also gather all nations,
And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;
And I will enter into judgment with them there
On account of My people, My heritage Israel,
Whom they have scattered among the nations;
They have also divided up My land. …”
(Joel 3:2)

And “…It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. …” (Zechariah 12:9)

Mr Olmert and Mr Bush are playing with fire. They are endangering themselves and Mr Bush is leading his nation into trouble.

As watchmen it is our responsibility, our directive from heaven, to warn them. And it is our duty to hold up the Word of God in the face of a God-denying and Bible-rejecting world.

We cannot force it down the throats of our political leaders and our nations. But we can, and we must, declare it.

Stan, this is an excellent article!
Though Pres. Bush claims to be a christian, he sadly believes in Replacement Theology. Which is why he does not take heed to the MANY warnings which christians and Jews alike have given him since he first announced his vision of a Palestinian state living side by side with Israel in “peace and safety”. When he reads the scriptures of warning, he probably figures they don’t hold up any longer since he also believes the church has replaced Israel. DEAR GOD PLEASE OPEN THAT MAN’S EYES TO THE TRUTH!

Olmert AND Bush are playing with fire. As well as every nation involved with this peace process. They better watch out. God will do whatever He must do for the sake of Jerusalem and His chosen people.

Thank You, Stan, for being one of Jerusalem’s Watchmen. It is a most trusted and sacred charge. You are sounding the alarm, just as you have been doing for many years.

God bless and protect you and your beloved family now and in the days to come.

Zechariah 14:1-3 further states: “Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.” - if dividing Jerusalem is the suggested “compromise” for peace, we may see the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy.

Malachi 11:2 is being fulfilled before our very eyes. Trying to tell someone “who’s ears do not hear” is like explaining “trigonometry” to a 1 year old. Besides, I know Yahweh will protect His own, (because God says he will), but many will be astonished when they find out how short they fell, they had their chance; really! The end prophets are reading like a “currents events news story” at this point. For those who claim to “Love God”,…it is “high-time” to prove it. Genesis 12:3 is the way, as well as truly knowing the “Jewish Messiah Yeshua”. For those looking for Yeshua… you will not find him: Nope, instead, He will find you…and only when you are prepared to receive Him; Get prepared, humble your heart, and allow him to receive you!

Just because someone claims to be a Christian does not make him or her a true Christian. Many in the USA (and elsewhere) will use this claim to get ahead in politics, or business. If Christians were truly being tortured and killed for claiming the name of Christian, there would be a vast desertion to this name Christian. There are nominal Christians (not really believers or followers in Christ), lukewarm Christians, carnal Christians, materialistic (idol lovers) Christians, and apostate Christians (those who have left the true faith). Such is what Christ taught this age would be. The parable of the seed and the sower come to mind. I never believed GW Bush was a true Christian. I never voted for him, and I believed him to be an arrogant liar. I still do. So, Israel, look to your Almighty to save you.

Looks like all will be fulfilled in our day ! I try everyday to tell the truth to many, but because they refused the truth from all of us who know G-d’s word is true, they are now believing the lie, following men, their replacement belief and son’t see G-d chosen as those who G-d promised to punish not forget. False teachers will get double punishment. Gen 12 also says even the silent ones are cursed who do not bless the Jews and Israel. IN the end, it doesn’t matter what they believe, as the truth is G-d’s word , not the false money hungry teachers. WE are the generation who know HE Is coming, as t is written we with His Spirt will know the season, I have no fear, He did not give me a spirit of fear, I will keep true to his word, and often wonder how anyone could not love the Jews which without them we would not even know G-d and has blessed the world so much ! They are precious to me..and to G-d..and HE says forever ! What He says is all that matters to me..

I have been greatly challenged as a Christian by the public declarations of faith anf trust in the God of Israel stated by observant Jews and their stand on the Word of God. One friend recently wrote me that ” we don’t understand but we are suree knows His ways.”"
Would that practising Christians had the same confidence and trust in the same God!
I can’t help but feel that there is more than just replacement theology behind Mr Bush’s apparent blindness and in these days when the devil is rushing about like a roaring lion and who knows his time is short, I believe that this obession Bush and the other ‘greats’ of world politics who confess to be Believers, with dividing up God’s land and Jerusalem in particular, is satan’s attempt to thwart the fulfillment of the prophecies of Scripture and defy God Himself, just as in the days when Lucifer fell pre creation.
This agenda is clearly driven from the powers of darkness and our stand must be to declare the Word of the Lord and declare the Truth whatever it costs and remind God of His Word as Daniel did. The same battle that is described in Daniel when the Archangel Michal was delayed for 21 days, is the same one facing Israel and the world today.
Thank you Stan for your continued honesty and close adherence to God’s Word. “He shall reign until He has put all things under His feet” Hallelujah.!!

I been warning people Bush would do this for five plus years, based on Jer 50/51, Isa 47, and Isa 29, and everyone blew it off. Now here it is and heads are exploding all over. But still not paying attention to what Jer 50/51 says. I wonder if people think it’ll go away for not hearing. We’ll see, but I highly seriously doubt it.

America is toast, surely as it has already happened, for it is written and settled forever. Of course, declare the words because it is right and God never judges without warning. But understand, as God hardened Pharoah’s heart that Egypt would be judged, so be it for America. It has become too much of an idol, and for God to relent would be to say idol worship is okay. It is not. We should not have equated the Eagle with the Cross. The bible makes no such connection.

And the recent trouble with Iran was not a coincidence. Iran will be raised up to destroy America because of dividing the Land. As Jer 50/51 says. Take it up with God.

We didn’t listen to Him before now, why should He listen to us now? Not how it works, folks. HE tells US what HE thinks, not the other way round.

This I say very sadly knowing how much we all love Israel there are tulf day’s ahead. For we all know that Israel in the end is going to be left standing all alone. But they will call on the God of Heaven & He Will Deliver Them. But what is about to befall America can only be seen as the handwriting on the wall. The Bible tell’s us exactly what will happen to those who try to devide Israel / Jerusalem. Sadly the stench or the Aroma that is going up to heaven in this pagen nation is about to bring about the Judgement from Almighty God that he has Promiced in his Holy Word. I Will Bless Those Nation’s That Bless Israel & I Will Curse Those Nation’s That Curse Israel.!!!!!!!!!!
As the way of all pagan nation’s in the past so america is about to go………
The God Of Israel Is About to release his mighty & Just Anger on a nation that has baned him from all 50 state’s…………….

Here are a couple questions i have been stewwing on for a while. As an adopted child to the family of God living in a foreign land I fully realize that I lack insight, understanding, knowledge and information on what it is really like in the city that my God has chosen above all others. His capital on earth. There is no other !
    1. I read very intelligent rebuttals to Christ being who He said He was by Rabbi’s
    false I know
    2. I see news blurbs of interviews with native Israelis and the people say they dont really believe in God or what He says about the future, but they like living there
3.I see leaders there in the last 15 years or so that seem to have good educations, intelligence, but no real heart for the Book or its promises. Just Jewish guys wanting to be amongst thier own kind. Just more politicians trying to cover their futures. Job security i suppose
    4. It seems to me that a very small number of the population gives a hoot about all the stuff we talk about here. I mean this stuff is breakin all of our hearts. I just dont see that being the case for the general population there
    5. We here all know how important Jerusalem is, we all know how impprtant the promises to guys like Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Joshua, David, Caleb are to God. We know His son. How many people living there understand this, or care about it. Or are they only concerned with there safety, progress, stability. blah blah blah
    6. God has always wanted only one thing that I can find in my Book. He wants people to know Him. He will take drastic measures to bring this about. And good luck to anyone that would mess with one who does know Him.
    7. I am curious what you people really think is His motivation to step up at this time and protect the USA , Israel, or anyone else that holds Him is such low regard

Only thing I see that can save us at this time is if God should choose to step up soon to protect and defend His good name, cause none of the parties involved in this deserve it far as I can see.
How will they know that we have found favor in your eyes unless you show us the way to go foward and protect us. not a chance

America undoubtedly is the most powerful nation in the World today, and consequently President Bush is arguably the most powerful man, in today’s world.

The enormous power he wields seems to have made him lose his head and he appears to be rapidly dragging USA to disaster even as he himself is heading towards total destruction.

I am reminded of King Nebuchadnezzar who was struck down by G-d with madness, even as drunk by his own power he arroganty stated - “Is not this the great Babylon, I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?”
    Dan.4:30

Unless President Bush honours The Word of Almighty G-d, he will be destroyed, and USA itself would suffer dire consequences.

I am saddened very much by this, as a vast majority of those making comments are Americans with a deep love for G-d & for Israel.

Let us therefore unitedly pray earnestly for Jerusalem & for America!!

I am convinced that President Bush will not hear nor see the warnings which are being given. Not by man, nor by God Himself. The disasters happening here in the USA to him are purely concidence. But we know better.

Again, MORE freak tornadoes tore up more states this morning. In January! When tornadoes just don’t happen in those parts. They tore through Arkansas and Tennessee. God’s Word speaks much of Whirlwinds. Whirlwinds which He Himself sends.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A line of thunderstorms fed by warm weather continued spinning off unusual January tornadoes Tuesday, killing a man in Arkansas and carrying a cow close to a mile.
At least three people died and hundreds evacuated because of flooding in Indiana, where more than 5 inches of rain in some areas and melting snow pushed rivers and streams over their banks. Two of the victims were young children trapped in a submerged car.
A tornado that hit Appleton, Ark., rolled a double-wide mobile home off its cinder block supports, killing a man and injuring his wife. The trailer appeared to have rolled for 50 yards before smashing against a stand of trees.
“The tornado hit and just it looked like his house pretty much exploded. It was taken completely off the blocks and just tore to pieces. They were both in the wreckage,” said Pope County Sheriff Jay Winters.

ALSO, stocks opening this morning was the worst ever.
    GOD IS IN CONTROL!

I too can not fathom the reasoning of giving back land which was won in a war!! It makes no sense! How would Bush feel about the USA giving back our land to whom we battled over it for?? And Olmert, he is disgusting to me that he agrees to everything.

    ISRAEL, I LOVE YOU!!!

More tornadoes in Mississippi, Alabama (where flood waters reached 6 feet deep!) and Tennessee. More people forced out of their homes.

See what’s happening here? Every time the USA tries to force “peace”and force Israeli’s out of their homes, American’s are forced out of their homes by GOD Himself. It’s no coincidence that hurricane Katrina left thousands homeless in New Orleans and Mississippi. That same week, Israeli’s had just been driven out of their homes in Gaza.

I have been doing some research on Gog and the Lord coming from the bozrah…and I somehow came across a verse in my hand held eletronic bible and it described the “chief of nations” as…ephriam?

So I went in search of any information that may have lead to that particular translation which was in reference to the mountain of samaria.

Here is what I found…could it be what we are seeing today?

    Gen 48:14
And Israel stretched out his right hand,
and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger,
and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head,
guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the first-born.
    Gen 48:17
And when Joseph saw that his father
laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim,
it displeased him: and he held up his father’s hand,
to remove it from Ephraim’s head unto Manasseh’s head.
    Gen 48:19
And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it.
He also (Manasseh) shall become a people, and he also shall be great:
howbeit his younger brother shall be greater than he,
and his seed (Ephriams) shall become a multitude of nations.

    Here is the verse…

    Amo 6:1
Woe to them that are at ease in Zion,
and trust in the mountain of Samaria,
which are named chief of the nations (Ephriam),

to whom the house of Israel came!

    Zec 9:12
    Return to the stronghold, ye prisoners of hope;
even to-day do I declare that I will render double unto thee.

    Zec 9:13
    For I bend Judah for Me, I fill the bow with Ephraim;
and I will stir up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Javan,
and will make thee as the sword of a mighty man.
    Zec 9:14
And the LORD shall be seen over them, and His arrow shall go forth as the lightning; and the Lord GOD will blow the horn, and will go with whirlwinds of the south.

    Eze 37:19 say into them:
    Thus saith the Lord GOD:
Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph,
    which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his companions;
and I will put them unto him together with the stick of Judah,
and make them one stick, and they shall be one in My hand.
    Eze 37:20
And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thy hand before their eyes.
    Eze 37:21
    And say unto them:
    Thus saith the Lord GOD:
Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the nations,
whither they are gone, and will gather them on every side,
    and bring them into their own land;
    Eze 37:22
and I will make them one nation in the land, upon the mountains of Israel,
    and one king shall be king to them all; and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all;

Maybe this is what we are seeing take place?

Time and time again God has put His desire into the hearts of men in no way connected with Israel and the Jews to discipline and remind them they are forgetting God. I can make no other sense in Bush striving so intensely to an end that makes no sense whatsoever to any of us, least of all me.
This truly looks like a focusing of political desires that will easily end in an agreement allowing construction of the Temple. Everytime, in my lifetime, the players come together to negotiate peace they come up short. Everytime the players change names more innocent people have died at the hands of mercilous men. At some point I am betting on exhaustion at avoiding the only thing standing between His return and more of the same. Nothing changes here til the work starts. This has more to do with preparing for His return than any bodies personal desires, needs, goals, mission. God has stated His plan and it doesnt matter how smart we are, or angry, frustrated, concerned, hurt, needing, wanting, longing, hopeful. None of us can alter, hasten, prevent His stated goal.

All created beings have wills. All wills will at some point be confronted with His will. All wills will bow. You can try to postpone it, argue about it, deny it, hate it, try to disprove it. We here love Him

The curse is in effect upon the head of this *evil man who arrogantly assumes to divide what is not his to divide and always rewards the enemies of Israel while punishing those Jews obedient to God’s command to rebuild on the land He gave them.

I have known a lot of people that wanted to be God’s prophet, God’s hammer of judgement. My warning never changes to them , be careful what you ask for cause what ever weopon you use on others will at some point be directed at you. The Bible isnt a hammer
Time and time again God uses someone , some country to pound on Israel and often as not He comes back later and says, uh oh you went farther than I had intended. Now I have some medicine for you to swallow.
If what ever we are seeing here doenst make any sense, than one of two things is going on. Either it is from the guy that never made any sense, our sworn enemy, or it is all from God and we are too anxious for it all to fit our requirements and understanding to see it clearly for what it is.
Hey , the 12 men Jesus chose understood little or nothing of what was going on til they had more information, right ? I’m waiting for a bit more information before I condemn my president. David wouldnt have laid a finger on Saul and I won’t consider myself any smarter than he.

Thanks for sharing what you learned concerning Ephraim, Jody. This morning, in my Torah studies, the teacher mentioned Ephraim. He said that the tribes of Ephraim has been admitted into Israel in the last few years. They must adopt the Jews way of Torah observance (Ephraim observes Torah differently than the Jews ) in order to come in to Israel. The teacher said that there may be a day when the descendants of Ephraim may say “enough” to their Jewish brethren. And that will make news. There may be civil wars just as in the days of the Northern and Southern tribes of the Hebrews. Just an observation, however. I also learned that it does make a difference in God’s eyes of whose side we are on in the Israel/Palestinian conflict. One cannot say it doesn’t matter just because what God has predetermined to happen there, will happen- such as the nation being divided into two states. Though we are with Israel, as is God, so we must not come against Ishmael’s descendants either. Moses commanded the Hebrews not to make war with Ishmael as they were brethren. Israel, even to this day, has never come against them initially. Israel has continuosly been provoked by them to battle for their security. We are blessed being on Israel’s side, but we must be careful our attitude towards the Palestinians and Arabs of Ishmael’s lineage.

Nice thought Sherry. Few ever talk about Ishmael’s line, but the Bible makes it very clear that when Jesus comes to reign, they and Egypt will love Him, return to Him just like us.

( We are blessed being on Israel’s side, but we must be careful our attitude towards the Palestinians and Arabs of Ishmael’s lineage. )

So true Sherry….our brothers and sister are there…on the wrong side at the moment maybe…but they are there. :-)

    Zec 9:7
And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth; and he also shall be a remnant for our God; and he shall be as a chieftain in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.
    Zec 9:8
And I will encamp about my house against the army, that none pass through or return; and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.

( The teacher said that there may be a day when the descendants of Ephraim may say “enough” to their Jewish brethren.)

In further study of the subject I did come across reference to the hirelings of Ephriam…and just as it sounds…its not good. But that would explain what our government is doing, if indeed we are one of Ephraims nations.

As for touching Gods annointed, may it never be, but that didnt keep David from seeing a spade as a spade. I used to give Pres. Bush the benefit of the doubt till I found out that he is just finishing up what his dad started. His father played the game with Peres years ago. And now the son is taking up the rear to finish it.
Peres and Olmert have played a large part in all this…Peres I know has been two faced towards Israel since the Bush Sr. administration.

But enough of the sad news…have you all heard ?

    King Solomon’s Navy Discovered America?

    http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Blogs/Message.aspx/2384

The ten commandments have been found written on a stone in New Mexico…written in ancient hebrew script that hasnt been used since around the time of the babylonian captivity.
They are dating it back to Solomon…and his navy. :-)

Fascinating article, Jody! Just thought I would reiterate what has been said before - that we are to be with Israel because God commands it. Even those who do not know God are under this mandate. It is not about Israel’s goodness or specialness to God. God did not choose them as a nation for these reasons, so we need not think we would ever have reason to turn our backs on them because of their behavior. It is a global, God - given mandate. No one is exempt from its blessings or curses. No one. Israel is the apple of God’s eye despite herself. What mercy and grace. Praise be to our God.

President Bush is shown in a picture wearing some golden chain honor from the Saudi regent, either before or after pronouncing the intent to continue in the ‘replacement’ of Israel as the possessor’s of the land promised to their patriarch. It will not be long now until we see the work of the Word of the L–D, not merely as pages from the Holy Scriptures, but as execution of the judgments pronounced to those who have planned and work their evil against His people.

Do you know what is meant by “The Apple of His Eye”?
The apple is the pupil of God’s eye.

CC and I just put this page together in hopes that those who do not study scripture will be awakened to just how crucial this matter is with Bush touching the apple of God’s eye! America has crossed the line!

Please read ( and turn your speakers up :)

And I learned this morning that the apple of God’s eye means both the spiritual ( believers in Christ )and the physical Israel - the nation and the people of Israel ( Jews, wherever they live ). I also became privy to another scripture passage that brings down all those who believe in Replacement Theology - Jeremiah 33:24 - 26.

Sherry, that is absolutely correct. For those who have been grafted in, the apple of His eye aso stands true. Christians who have been born again are not second class citizens in God’s glorious Kingdom. His promises stand true for ALL who are HIS. HALLELUJAH!!!!! And to the Jewish people we christians say, THANK YOU!

I don’t understand how anyone can read the scriptures and think the church has replaced Israel. I also don’t understand why they reject everything Jewish! Not only was Messiah VERY JEWISH, not only were the apostles very Jewish, as well as the early church, but His Kingdom is very Jewish! He will take up His Throne and rule and reign from JERUSALEM! Ohhh heart leaps every time I think of it!! Wooooooohooooooo!!!!! ;)

Thank you Jim for you comment. CC & I hope you were blessed by that page. God bless you brother.

Praises and glory to the Almighty God of Heavens, earth, and life. Let everything breathe life rejoice in His Holy Name. May we all know that He sent His only begotten Son and that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting (eternal) life. Amen. We are living witnesses of His true prophets and disciples. We have been all warned. Now it is time to pray and give thanks. Yahweh is on His way to redeem us.
Very good article, thank you, Stan and team, for your tiredless work.

    How are the mighty fallen!

Hezbollah’s Nasrallah emerged from hiding on Ashura, Shiite Islam’s holiest day. It was his first appearance since the conclusion of the 2006 war with the “cancerous entity” (his euphemism for Israel). He carried joyful “tidings” to almost two million of his followers: “We have the [Israeli] heads, the [Israeli] hands, the [Israeli] feet, and even a nearly intact [Israeli] cadavre from the head down to the pelvis.” Men, women and children waving Hezbollah flags joyfully responded: “Death to Israel”!

“Now the Philistines [Palestinians] fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa. And the Philistines followed hard after Saul and after his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchi-shua, the sons of Saul…. And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen in mount Gilboa. And they stripped him, and took his head, and his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to carry the tidings unto their idols, and to the people. And they put his armour in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the house of Dagon” (1 Chronicles 10:2 – 10).

“Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him. And they wailed, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the LORD, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword…. And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son, and said… Thy beauty, O Israel, upon thy high places is slain! How are the mighty fallen! Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Ashkelon; lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph. Ye mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew nor rain upon you, neither fields of choice fruits; for there the shield of the mighty was vilely cast away, the shield of Saul, not anointed with oil. From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, the bow of Jonathan turned not back, and the sword of Saul returned not empty. Saul and Jonathan, the lovely and the pleasant in their lives, even in their death they were not divided; they were swifter than eagles, they were stronger than lions. Ye daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you in scarlet, with other delights, who put ornaments of gold upon your apparel. How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle! Jonathan upon thy high places is slain! I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan; very pleasant hast thou been unto me; wonderful was thy love to me, passing the love of women. How are the mighty fallen…” (2 Samuel 1:11 – 27).

“… And when all Jabesh-gilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul, all the valiant men arose, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the terebinth in Jabesh, and fasted seven days” (1 Chronicles 10:11 – 12).

Can anyone explain to me how rockets can continue to rain down daily on Israel, and our lovely American News sources dont mention even a word about it ? I thank God for my computer and the fact that it doesnt allow me to be complacent or ignorant of the news in the chosen city of my God. I wonder what the average American would say were they to be told daily of this disgraceful violence. Yeah, lets give them a country and throw in a piece of our ost beloved city on earth as a reward for their tolerance, love and good behavior

Dear brother Jim, it isn’t newsworthy when the Palestinians daily bombard Sderot and Israel. Now, when Israel makes so much of a move as lighting a firecracker, it makes news. Not only that, but the whole world decries their action. That’s just their anti-jew slip showing, isn’t it? Yes, the internet is the only decent source for news concerning what is daily threatening the Israelis. Many thanks to Jerusalem Watchman and the links given on this site so we may know what is up.

Amen to that Sherry. I am bone tired of watching the things I love held in such low regard. Tired of defending my God and His Son. Tired of being seen as a clown and a fool down here on the ground. Hoping this is the year that my God decides to speak for Himself. Time for Him to defend His good name.

Amen to that, Jim! Better to be a fool for Christ here on earth than…well, you know what I am saying. Thankfully, God sees it all. One reason, I surmise, that He hasn’t yet raised His ire against Israel’s enemies is to perhaps test the faith of His Church, to see where they stand with His beloved City and Nation. Perhaps those in the replacement camp need time to wake up! We look forward to the Day when all of Israel’s ( God’s ) enemies will bow to the Lord Jesus Christ in full recognition of their folly. Eyes up as we defend the faith. We won’t be wearing the clown make-up when all is said and done.
