Dear President Obama
You will just have heard Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu deliver his speech, which as you know you are partially responsible for having pressed him into making.
Hopefully you will have heard his heartfelt appeal to the Arab world to grasp the hand that Israel has long held out for peace.
You will have heard his appeal to world leaders like you to help make this happen.
You know that Netanyahu did not use the words “two state solution” that you pressed him so hard to utter.
You heard that he is not prepared to acquiesce to your demand for a total freeze on “settlement” activity.
The cries of “betrayal” and “sabotage” coming from the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah will also have reached your ears.
You will likely already have gone into intense discussion with your advisors as to how best to respond to what your Israeli counterpart has said and laid out.
As you ponder what your comeback will be, I respectfully suggest, should you wish to regain even a small portion of the credibility you jettisoned so effectively in Cairo earlier this month (when you spoke to the Muslim world as a brother after describing yourself as a Christian), that it’s past time you made some quick and hard decisions.
Unlike your predecessor - who was sucked reluctantly into the Middle East quagmire by the 9-11 attacks - you have voluntarily chosen to engage THE issue of the ages right at the start of your presidency.
It would surely behoove you, then, to decide where you stand and position yourself accordingly. First and foremost I would say - given that the Arab-Israeli conflict is in reality a conflict between religions - it is imperative that you resolve which faith it is you adhere to - if you subscribe to any religion at all. And it wouldn’t hurt if you could settle on which scriptures you believe in and are going to quote from in your future speeches; which you should surely only do if you truly hold them to be sacred.
Since the days of the election campaign, you have insisted that - although you have Muslim roots, you are in fact a Christian. You had a conversion experience some years ago, and have been attending church more or less since then. After moving to the White House, one of the biggest human interest stories for awhile related to which new church home you and the First Lady would find. I believe you have yet to settle on a denomination and locale, and that you have only attended two services in the capital since your relocation.
Well, you say you believe in God. Which one? Who is he?
Were you a Muslim, you could answer: Allah - the ancient Moon God of the Middle East that was elevated to a position of pre-eminence by Muhammad and so became the one god of monotheistic Islam.
Were you a Jew, you could answer: Yahoveh (or Jehovah), Creator of Heaven and Earth, the LORD God of Hosts, the God of Israel (2 Chronicles 30:5), the God of Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 32:19; Ezra 7:19).
As a Christian, you must surely answer similarly to the Jew, adding that you believe Jesus to be the Son of that God, the King of the Jews, whose past and future home is Jerusalem, to which He will return as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and from where He will rule over the nations of the world - including the United States - with a rod of iron.
This is not a fudgeable issue. The god of Islam and the God of Jews and Christians are not the same being - neither by character nor by history, nor by the very descriptions of these beings in the books their followers call holy.
Which brings us to the Koran, the Tanach (Hebrew Scriptures) and the combined Tanach and New Testament (the “Christian Bible”).
The Koran - Islam’s ‘bible’ - in very specific language, describes Jews as enemies and instructs pious and faithful Muslims to use violence to destroy them. Islam also teaches that the Jews corrupted the Tanach and Christians corrupted the New Testament. The Holy Scriptures of Jews and Christians are therefore illegitimate and what they say - including regarding the ownership of the Land of Israel, the ownership of Jerusalem, and the calling to the Jews to be God’s Chosen People - cannot and does not stand.
This is what good Muslims are taught to believe, and if you wish to return to the faith of your fathers then you will be happily able to embrace these convictions and with full confidence pursue your effort to wrest the Land of Israel - specifically Samaria and Judea (which you call the occupied territories or West Bank) from Jewish rule.
Where you have a serious credibility problem, however, is when you make your foreign policy line up with this Islamic point of view even as you loudly profess to be a follower of the Christ - who according to the New Testament was born a Jew in the line of the great Israeli King David, and whose place of birth was in the Land of Israel (according to the Gospels), specifically Bethlehem - which is in the aforementioned “West Bank” and which has already, due to American pressure, been surrendered to Arab control.
Of course, the New Testament springs out of the “Old” Testament. Jesus’ Father, as we Christians believe, is the God of that Old Testament who called out Abraham, designated his children (through Isaac and Jacob; not Ishmael and Esau), to be His “Special Treasure” and gave them, exclusively and in perpetuity, the Land of Israel, first and foremost that very same “West Bank.”
Now you cannot expect us to accept your claim to be a Christian and a Bible-believer (I don’t know; have you ever claimed the latter?) when you pursue policies that fly in the face of what the One you call Your God has so emphatically and unequivocally laid down
I mean, He is either the God you serve, or He is your useful servant. And the Bible is either your Bible, or it’s your stage prop. You can’t have it both ways.
Please stop just a second and consider.
If Allah is god, then you need to profess this and set your course to completely serve him. As you must know, he is notoriously unforgiving towards those who convert AWAY from Islam. And it is his best and most FAITHFUL followers — not the “extremists” or “fundamentalists” or “jihadists,” and not the nominal or lazy Muslims — that want to see and perpetrate his will on the Jews and the Christians in order to win their place in the hereafter.
If you believe that the LORD is God; that He is the One who created you, who holds your heart and your life in His hands; that He is responsible for raising you up and bringing you to the White House, to the leadership of the most powerful nation in the world — then it follows very logically that you would seek to serve Him and walk accountably before Him, conforming your will and your policies to His expressed wish and purpose; for you are destined to stand before Him one day and give account of your presidency.
I am a Bible believing Christian. A gentile, not a Jew. My God says that this land, at least from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, and including the Golan Heights, Samaria, Judea and the Gaza Strip, is Israel’s land.
My God says that the city of Jerusalem is the capital of the Land of Israel. He designates the Temple Mount as the place of His throne, upon which He will soon install His King, the Son of David.
No-one, not even you, Mr President, has the right to try and take this land and give it to another people. You have no right, before God, to pressure Israel into relinquishing its claim to any part of Jerusalem.
Israel did nothing wrong, nothing illegal, to extend its rule over these lands and over this city. Only under Jewish administration have adherents of all faiths been welcome to visit their holy sites and worship their gods protected by the Israeli government and security forces.
I doubt very much that I am the first non-Israeli and non-Jew to tell you, Mr. Obama, that this land belongs to the Jews, and only to the Jews.
Untold millions of Christians believe this, and want you, as a fellow Christian, to endorse and defend this view too.
Should you go with the Islamic flow, however (which is complemented by the secular-humanist - i.e. God-denying and rejecting - world) - then at least have the integrity and the courage to say as much.
Thereafter it will be expected of you that you turn ever harder against Israel and become more and more openly pro-Arab - as you revealed in Cairo is already your position.
As a president who publicly admits to having more of an affinity with the Muslim world than with the Christian one, you will be able to move a whole lot more quickly and successfully towards securing the kind of settlement you apparently hope (like so many before you have hoped) will become your most lasting and glorious legacy.
But until you make up your mind on this most fundamental of issues underlying the whole situation, you will never bring a real peace to us in the Middle East.

As you know, there is another option for the ultimate allegiance of the soul of President Obama. It is “self”. And his worship is to the god called “politics”. The strings that pull him and animate him are pulled by others. Thus, he could answer you clearly and change his answer just as clearly when politics demanded it. That is the dilemma we face in America. We saw it in Bill Clinton. He was, however, an amateur compared to Obama. But your comments are superb. And God is not mocked! I watched Bibi’s speech on Live Stream. What you have written here, is also what I myself got from his speech. However, the media (both Israel and America) seem to be reporting totally different perspectives of Bibi’s speech. Some are joyfully proclaiming that Bibi DID agree to two states, and many in Israel are angry at him for going along with Obama. I understood his message as meaning just what you said here. Obama thought his speech was wonderful! Oy veh! What is going on???

Very well stated Brother Stan. I hope and pray that Prime Ministe Natanyahu learned a lesson from over 10 years ago when he relinquished Hevron into PA control. The Prime Minster stated the truth regarding the return of Jews to Israel. He corrected President Obama on the return of Jews to Israel and the rebirty of the nation. We there an Israel, the events in Germany and Europe would not have happened the way they did. Also, Prime Minister Natanyahu laid down condition that the Palestinians and Islamist nations will never agree to; the Jewishness of Israel, the unity of Jerusalem under Israeli control, and the uncompromising statement that Israel does have a right to exist as a Jewish state.
Ultimately, God is in control. He is allowing things to happen this way to see which side people fall down on; His side, or the side of the world. Some who are watching the situation would only be happy if the Prime Ministe r would have just given President Obama the middle finger or threw his shoe at him!
I prayed for the Prime Minister for days after hearing he was giving the speech and I think he did rather well under the circumstances. He did not mention the popular phrase “two states for two peoples…” which was a good thing. The day is coming when Israel will without a doubt be left out to dry and swinging in the wind; THIS IS THE DAY GOD ACTS! He is in control. He will rise up as in the day of battle and defeat all who stand against His stated will.

You could summarise it by saying that Netanyahu agrees with Obama on the need for peace
and accepts the theoretical principle of a palestinian state… but points out that reality on the Arab side means it will never happen.
According to Netanyahu, to get a state, the Arabs must agree to…
Recognise Israel’s right to exist.
Accept that Israel is a Jewish state.
Abandon dreams of flooding Israel with millions of ‘palestinian refugees’.
Agree that their state will be de-militarised.
Forget about re-dividing Jerusalem.

Netanyahu might as well have added two other conditions for the establishment of a ‘palestinian state’,
namely that

It’s a wonderful letter, Stan. But you’re speaking to someone who doesn’t have ears to hear or eyes to see.
In my grief over Obama taking the seat of the US presidency, I’ve only been comforted by one thought, and that is that when America is no longer the friend Israel can turn to, she’ll have no friends at all, and that’s probably exactly where the Lord wants her, so that she’ll finally turn to HIM.

You are so right, Stan. I do not know where Obama stands as to the issue of his belief. I just know as he pushes Israel to divide up her capital, many storms are raging here in the United States. There were 14 tornados reported yesterday with some damaging buildings, as floods ruined homes in other states. God’s wrath pouring out. It even hailed near the east coast, in June, which is suppose to be a summer month! My heart breaks as I pray for our president to “make up his mind ” and for our country. God is surely angry and saddened by the state of alot of people’s hearts. May Jesus come back soon!

I agree completely except that I believe that President Obama is in fact a Muslim, whether he admits to it or not.
Perhaps I misunderstand Judaism, but doesn’t it reject the notion of Jesus as God every bit as much as it rejects Mohammed as prophet? Both Christianity and Islam claim Judaism as a precursor. Both claim Jacob and Isaac as their patriarchs. Both claim to be worshipping, in the one correct fashion, the god of Moses. From a secular viewpoint, Islam is no less a derivative of Judaism and Christianity, than the latter is a derivative of Judaism.

This is the most intelligent Judeo-Christian approach to emphasising and higliting key points to this nonsense imho in Palestine/Israel. Israel IS Jewish land, and thanks be to God for it! Since the beginning of Mr.Obama’s campaign I had the opinion that he is not a Christian. I do pray that he becomes the man(person) of God that He wishes us all to be. It has also been my contention that Mr. Obama and the leaders of his administration desire to take the country down the path of Socialism. This explains their economic and moral decisions that they are making. What better way to coral the masses into giving up the freedoms that weve enjoyed for 250 plus years than by destroying the finacial “security’ that most, if not all Americans enjoy, to bring us to the point surrendering our rights for the ’social’ good. But then again, isn’t the downward trend consistent with Biblical prophecy. It appears that the US is not a major player in the end times.

C’mon, Stan. You’re talking like a politician now. Just because Netanyahu didn’t say the magic words “two state solution”, it’s obvious to everyone that is what he meant. If each of the “peoples” he spoke of have their own flag, national anthem and government, that’s exactly what it is … two independent, sovereign states. If I deny anything happened to the Jewh during WW II but don’t mention the Holocaust is that still not Holocaust denial?
If it were not true, why would Netanyahu have appointed Michael Oren ambassador to the US. He made it clear before he was appointed that he supports giving away Judea and Samaria. Oren is currently in discussions with the US regarding the settlements. He said last Wednesday that he expected the ongoing dispute between the Israeli and US governments over settlement construction in Judea and Samaria to be resolved soon. In a recent interview regarding the US-Israeli agreement now under discussion, Oren was asked, “Will it make the settlers happy?” Oren’s response: “I cannot speak in their name but I can say that the solution will be good for Israel’s government and for Israel’s national interests.” This is the man Netanyahu — whom you are defending — appointed and has leading these discussion for Israel with the US!
In addition, Netanyahu’s call for a “demilitarized” state is really a joke. He knows that will never happen but figures that topic can be dealt with later with his own countrymen. The United States has not spent hundreds of millions of dollars and several years in arming and training a PA/PLO Arab military force just to disband it. Like all politicians, Netanyahu is all about the semantics, as is the US. They are very careful to refer to the terrorist army they are now arming and training as a “paramilitary security force”.
It’s quite clear, given the several telephone calls that Obama made to Netanyahu the week prior to the speech, that this was done in accordance with the White House. He is already giving in to Obama’s demand to destroy the so-called ‘illegal’ outposts.
I know, Stan, that you are a big supporter of Netanyahu but don’t sink to his level. This is all about semantics. He made it very clear that he wanted to divide Israel and it’s a disservice to your readers that you say that he didn’t. I am sure that Yahweh sees it for what it is.
It’s not about Obama. He’s not the leader of Israel. People need to stop being fearful of the United States and begging the US president to stop pressuring Israel.. It’s the Israeli leaders who are in charge. The only reason the US has any power over Israel is because Israel gives it to them. No other nation takes this kind of abuse. Thankfully, there are many people in the settlements who trust in Yahweh and not their leaders and they don’t fear the US. They will stand against the pagan Israeli government when it comes to remove them from their homes.

I have had it with you and your administration, sir. Your conduct on your recent trip overseas has convinced me that you are not an adequate representative of the United States of America collectively or of me personally.
You are so obsessed with appeasing the Europeans and the Muslim world that you have abdicated the responsibilities of the President of the United States of America . You are responsible to the citizens of the United States . You are not responsible to the peoples of any other country on earth. I personally resent that you go around the world apologizing
for the United States telling Europeans that we are arrogant and do not care about their status in the world. Sir, what do you think the First World War and the Second World War were all about if not the consideration of the peoples of Europe ? Are you brain dead ? What do you think the Marshall Plan was all about?
Do you not understand or know the history of the 20th century? Where do you get off telling a Muslim country that the United States does not consider itself a Christian country? Have you not read the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States ?

What about the U.S. House members passing out $9.1 million in bonuses to their staff members - on top of the $2.5 million in automatic pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves? I understand the average House aide got a 17% bonus. I took a 5% cut in my pay to save jobs with my employer. You haven’t said anything about that. Who authorized that? I surely didn’t! Executives at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will be receiving $210 million in bonuses over an eighteen-month period, that’s $45 million more than the AIG bonuses. In fact, Fannie and Freddie executives have already been awarded $51 million - not a bad take. Who authorized that and why haven’t you expressed your outrage at this
group who are largely responsible for the economic mess we have right now.
I resent that you take me and my fellow citizens as brain-dead and not caring about what you idiots do. We are watching what you are doing and we are getting increasingly fed up with all of you. I also want you to know that I personally find just about everything you do and say to be offensive to every one of my sensibilities. I promise

In response to Lee’s comment, after the Olmert and Livni fiasco, I can understand people being Netanyahu supporters. My concern about him has to do with his history and the fact that he has so much on his plate (trying to hold together a v. large and unwieldy coalition, standing in the face of such massive U.S. and international pressure to negotiate a peace settlement w. the ‘Palestinians’, facing apparent efforts by Rahm Emanuel and the Israeli opposition to unseat him etc etc) that in order to survive as PM and keep everybody happy, he’s going to make dangerous compromises that only weaken Israel. He needs lots of prayer! As for semantics, I agree that however it’s said dividing the land is dividing the land, but I have a personal beef with the toxic term ‘two state solution’; all it seems to do is reinforce this myth that the Jews and the ‘Palestinians’ stand shoulder to shoulder, sharing a 60 year history in the land (that one really gets me) and having equal claim on the land. And in a final comment on Netanyahu, he is after all only human and only the God of Israel can sort this one out; when Israel’s Messiah sets his feet on Jewish soil, then I’ll breathe. Stan’s post was a really strong one; I’m one reader who feels that no disservice was done.
Oh my gosh!!! I pray that our President Mr. Obama will consult (in private and away from the nay-sayers … that is) with people like you, Joel Rosenberg, Hal Lindsey, Perry Stone, T. D. Jakes, Drs. Jack & Rexella Van Impe, and many more highly Judeo-Christian scholared professors. I really mean this.

We’re moving ultraspeed in fulfillment of ALL Bible Prophecies … The last and final will be the Gauntlet (Genesis 3:15), but just watching Romans chapters 9 to 12 materializing now is amazing. I’m seeing a movement of non-believers and those formerly Islamic move into the churches! They’re reading the BIBLES!
However, judging by the actions of our President, (for example, cancelled annual prayer services at the White House, insignificant efforts to find a fruitful ministry to raise his family in, misquoting the parables of Jesus on the Mount, etc.) it doesn’t seem like at all if he is a Bible-belt Christian.
I don’t think he has ever left Rev. Wright’s church with a true fulfillment of the Scriptures … afterall, Rev. Wright feels that “Zionists” are holding back on progress. Ha! Imagine that.

Could it possible be from Rick Warren of the Saddleback church who stated before billions of listeners during the Presidents inauguration ceremony that Dr.Martin Luthur King & other civil rights leaders were LOOKING DOWN with joy on what was happening that day. Thanks for coming out with the correct information. The funny or unusual thing is that we all know it. But here in the U.S., there seems to be a “hands off this president” with most people. I have never seen anything like this in my life. Be assured, there is a huge part of America that believes the way you do.
