As Israel’s prime minister gets ready for Shabbat, after which he is set to deliver his widely-awaited foreign policy speech, you can write to encourage him to stand strong against the shameless bullying tactics of the Obama administration and the European Union. Along with the whole world, Washington and Brussels are panting to hear Benjamin Netanyahu say he supports the “two-state solution.”

I am writing to you to encourage you as you deliver your speech today. I am a friend of Israel, a Christian Zionist and have recently returned from my 6th trip to Ertez Yisrael. In fact I had the great pleasure of meeting Menachem Begin in 1980. I read in the word of G-d that the land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people for eternity. Even as the world turns against you there is the Holy One of Israel who stands for His people. I have often considered the Prime Ministership of Israel the hardest job in the world as you are under immense pressure from so many directions. Prime Minister, remember that it is G-d who has given the land to your people. You need not the agreement of the American President. I read that your prophets state that one day G-d will gather all the nations together and judge them for scattering your people throughout the world and for dividing up His land - G-d Himself says that they have “divided up My land” (Joel 3:1-2). G-d says also that the Keeper of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4). I read too and believe that “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the L-RD, and their righteousness is from Me, says the L-RD.” This will include the Iranians and their plans which will come to naught. The list of nations and great powers which have come against Israel is long but they all have one thing in common, they were all judged by G-d and are now gone, the Egyptians, the Assyrians, the Persians, the Babylonians, the Greeks, the Romans, the British Empire, the Nazi thousand year Reich, and soon others will join them including sadly, the United States, if they continue to turn their backs on Israel and attempt to force you to stop the settlements, compromise with the Palestinians or allow Jerusalem, the eternal city of G-d to be divided.
Finally I would like you to know that there are many Christians, like myself, who do not believe that we have replaced the Jewish people as G-d’s chosen people but rather that one day Israel will be the head of all the nations.

It is perplexing even to me, a non-Israeli, how no one really seems to “get it” about the push for a Pal. State. For 1000+ years the land was not significant to anyone. Only after Israel resettled the land, (and transformed it within 60 years) and it became a true nation has it become an issue. Why? It is not about the land, but about the religion of the region. Islam was founded on the premise that G-d had abandoned the Jews, and scattered them (for over 550 years at that time) all over the globe; G-d had also given up on the Christians because of their idolatry (Catholicism). Enter Islam - G-d’s final answer for man. For 1300 years this has been the idea, and no one challenged it - until Israel of today was reestablished. When that happened, it began to shake Islam to its core…if G-d caused all things, He also caused this reemergence. If that was true, then Islam’s claim of being the final successor religion of both Judaism and Christianity could not be true. The very core of Islam’s validity was at stake. The solution? GET RID OF ISRAEL AT ANY COST. That would then allow for the reassertion of Islam’s core assertion to be reestablished. Conclusion: it is not about land, it is the very survival of Islam that is really at stake here. If G-d is still blessing Israel, and has NOT given up on her, then what is one to do with the the Prophet’s assertion? It cannot be true. And if not, much more falls apart. Thus we see, and it makes sense, why the Islamic world simply HAS TO get rid of Israel as a nation… it is an issue of self-survival. I believe that the lack of understanding of this issue is yet one more aspect of ignorance by those trying to bring an impossible peace to the region. Israel must be strong, and able to clearly defend itself, yet be kind and and understanding. A tough combination. You as prime minister hold an office no one can envy due to its complexity and seemingly impossible routes out of this dilemma, but you alone may have the fortitude to do what is right, regardless the cost. There is no alternative. No amount of placating will be enough… only MORE will be demanded. Strength and resolve is what the other side grasps.
