Barely in office, America’s brand new president and his secretary of state are already moving fast to position themselves on the so-called Israeli-”Palestinian” conflict.
Shining like new pennies, bolstered by the massive national wave of feel-good optimism, they stood in front of the television cameras last Thursday and drew up their battle plans, declaring their intentions and appointing the man who will spearhead their efforts to realize success on the ground.
“I pledge my supreme effort,” Barack Hussein Obama declared, “in the search for peace and a stability in the Middle East.”
We will - said Hillary Rodham Clinton as she introduced new envoy George Mitchell - be adopting a “robust” approach.
Mitchell is due in Jerusalem tomorrow. It looks like Obama is already moving to engage the enemy here.
Who, one might ask, is that enemy?
To best answer, let’s identify America’s “friends.”
Obama’s first telephone call from the Oval Office last Wednesday, the day after his inauguration, was to Palestine Liberation Organization chairman Mahmoud Abbas. The president promised the terrorist-in-a-tie that his new administration would be pushing ahead towards the “two-state-solution.”
Obama also saw to it Tuesday that his first television interview was addressed to the Arab-Islamic world. “Americans are not your enemies,” he told Al-Arabiya TV.
“We sometimes make mistakes — we have not been perfect.”
Muslims attacked America on 9-11. Muslims have been triggering and waging war all around the globe, often aimed at America’s interests, but the US president tells Muslims AMERICA has made mistakes!?
Who, WHO is the enemy in Obama and Clinton’s eyes?
Is it the Arab world, that for decades has ganged up on Israel and asserted effort after effort to destroy the state which has 950-times less land than the Arabs do?
Is it the Arab regimes of Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt, whose rejection of the Jews’ right to their homeland has been the primary factor responsible for the instability in the Middle East that has so detrimentally affected the interests of the United States and the rest of the western world?
Is it the countries which, endowed with stupendous wealth, threaten - and sometimes make good on their threat - to hold the oil-reliant nations hostage unless they dance to their Arab tune?
Is it the vicious abusers of human and women’s rights, who torture their opponents in medieval dungeons, forbid - on pain of death - the personal choice of their people to convert from Islam to Christianity - or to sell their land to a Jew; and condemn their own citizens to live in poverty while they spend billions of dollars pursuing more advanced weapons with which to attack Israel?
Is it the opportunistic despots who traditionally have chosen to side with America’s foes and only - transparently - agreed to become America’s “allies” when other options have been closed to them and/or in exchange for the goodies such an alliance can bring?
Is it the people who break out in singing and hand out candy to celebrate jihadist attacks on the United States and the murdering of thousands of American citizens; the people who burn the Stars and Stripes and trample the ashes into the dirt while spewing out their hatred for the Great Satan; the people who make an instant hero out of a “journalist” who flings his shoes at the president of the despised and abhorred United States?
Are these countries the enemy?
Or is the Obama administration - not withstanding its repeated pledges of friendship and fealty to Israel’s security - soon to discover that it is Israel who will get in the way of its policies, program and “peace” plan for the Middle East?
Will the bad boy on the block for America quickly become the small state under its proud Star of David, surrounded by belligerent and bullying regimes who have steeped their people in antisemitism and for decades promised them, day-after-day, the spoils that will be theirs when they have finally vanquished the Jew?
Will the enemy be the only Middle Eastern nation that shares America’s values of democracy, freedom of the press and respect for human rights?
Will the - eventual if not immediate - enemy be the nation whose forefathers gave America the Bible on which their legal system and a great deal of their national history and values have been built?
Will the enemy be the remnant of a nation which, against all imaginable odds, managed to survive centuries of assorted and often terribly effective efforts to annihilate them simply because of who they are as a nation and Who they represent?
Will the Obama administration’s enemy be this little land whose people look, almost fawningly, to the US for friendship, swearing allegiance to the American flag in almost the same breath with which they swear allegiance to their own?
America, under its new liberal leaders, will soon begin to turn the screws on Jerusalem.
It’s going to happen.

I am not at all surprised that Obama is contacting the Muslims first and cowtowing to them. To me it was who he is/was all along. I even read that in one of his books, he wrote that he would always be a muslim first. It is my personal understanding that if I were Muslim and wanted to cut a deal with you over anything, land, item, property, I could agree with you in principal, if you had the upper hand, create a deal, and then in 10 years could scrap that deal and do what ever I was able to, to gain the upper hand. Obama is the “Judas” of our day. Had the disciple “Judas” repented, his part in the loser’s deal he negotiated with evil would have been forgiven. If there was even a small feeling of solidarity between Arab nations, if these nations had but the smallest interest in reconstructing the Palestinian people – your situation would be very different.
You must be familiar with Singapore. The land mass there is not much larger than the Gaza Strip and it is considered to be the second most populated country in the world. Yet, Singapore is a successful, prospering, and well-managed country. Why not the same for you?
My friend, I would like to call you by name, but I will not do so publicly. I want you to know that I am 100% at peace with what my country did, what my army did, and what I did. However, I feel your pain. I am sorry for the destruction you are finding in your neighborhood at this moment. On a personal level, I did what I could to minimize the damage to your home as much as possible.
In my opinion, we have a lot more in common than you might imagine. I am a civilian, not a soldier, and in my private life I have nothing to do with the military. However, I have an obligation to leave my home, put on a uniform, and protect my family every time we are attacked. I have no desire to be in your home wearing a uniform again and I would be more than happy to sit with you as a guest on your beautiful balcony, drinking sweet tea seasoned with the sage growing in your garden.
The only person who could make that dream a reality is you. Take responsibility for yourself, your family, your people, and start to take control of your destiny. How? I do not know. Maybe there is something to be learned from the Jewish people who rose up from the most destructive human tragedy of the 20th century, and instead of sinking into self-pity, built a flourishing and prospering country. It is possible, and it is in your hands. I am ready to be there to provide a shoulder of support and help to you.
But only you can move the wheels of history.

Yishai, I do believe what you have said here. I do believe that Israel only wants to live in peace. I do believe Israel is a peace loving and humane people. I do believe that Hamas has driven the war to you. You have had no choice but to defend your people. Oh that this misery would end for all people invoved! But, I do not see an end, only more and more and more, for these times we live in. I can only be a heavenly-minded person, with my life centered in Jesus Christ and my mind and heart fixed in faith on His coming Kingdom. I wait and pray for that wonderful time.

However, for years I have told everyone that I think G.W. Bush was the last chance for America to turn and listen. I wished, he would have told the American people to repend like the Kings of Israel did on some occasions, but he didn’t.
But this man has been trampled into the ground, accused of things he did not do and the like. There are no scandals like Clinton etc. but they hated this man without a cause.
Now, America has gotten a man, who talks about his deep faith and not explaining what that actually is to him. Every time he has been asked about Jesus and Christian faith he answers like: I have a bible at home so what do you think I am?

The “screws” have already been turned and set in motion against Israel, and sadly many “believers” can’t even see this nor want to. While praying with a group of people, one person exclaimed that God has a purpose for placing Obama into office. I disagree. I don’t see how God “placed” Obama into this position. It was the overwhelming choice of America that placed Obama as president. God is not going to go against Himself by setting someone into office who is totally against His covenant set forth within His Word. America was just “blessed” (or should I say cursed) to get what they asked for. Sadly, there are too many going around saying that change will come for the good - even “Christians”. This is also what Obama said, but sadly it’s not the change that even those who voted for Obama could have ever hoped for. America is already in ruins and too many times God has sounded the alarm. The falling economy is only a sign that the warning has past. The craziness in many of America’s churches with fallen leaders, deceptive teachings, and itching ears are all signs that the the warning has past because of the lack of the fear of the Lord and the unwillingness to rend our hearts and repent. The election of Obama is another sign that the warning has past. All of these effects of America’s sins have resulted in the now consequences America is currently facing because of being a rebellious nation so intent on not serving the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It seems that we as Americans have long since entered into the stage of God’s judgment upon us, and that judgment is going to continue to build and build. Yes, the mercy of God is needed, and I do pray for His mercy upon us, but sadly it looks like for many it is too late because of the direction taken against God, Israel, and His people.
My heart aches and breaks as I read this. None of us want to see destruction–but unless the U.S.A. repents, destruction is coming our way. To a degree, destruction has already come–through undreamt-of natural disasters, through terrorist acts such as 9-11, through increased violence in our land, and through other means. But it hasn’t woken us up. We’re still asleep on the Titanic. All of us are asleep–INCLUDING THE CHURCH…INCLUDING (I HATE TO SAY) THE MESSIANIC JEWISH COMMUNITY. What will it take? These days are not–will not be–for the faint of heart.
and in the end. This is what these people have brought kind, thoughtful, normal, resonable people to say out loud, because they have been left little or no wiggle room what so ever. Obama & Co. have a massive case of hubris. Genesis tells what God will do to those who curse Israel. Deuteronomy tells us that the Jews are the apple of God’s eye. And Acts 12 shows what can befall those of great pride without giving Almighty God credit for their success. If he betrays Israel, Obama will actually find out just what it is to take on someone way out of his pay grade. Unfortunately, the rest of America will suffer also.
It breaks my heart to say it, but I think you’re right Stan. Bibi Netanyahu will most like be PM come Feb. 10, and he has plans for dealing with Hamas and Iran. If he goes ahead with his plans (and I pray he does), that may sever Israel & USA relations even more so, so with Obama in command. The Bible says that EVERY nation will turn again Israel in the last days. America must be included. Or else, America is gone! Time will tell.
If Obama is no longer a Muslim, then he must logically be in line for apostate status and all that can involve. If his heart is as it once was and he is regarded as working for the Umma cause, then it explains why the cry is generally not that he is an apostate. So one way or another, he is Muslim motivated and has made this clear in numbers of subtle ways which have punctuated style and speech. Why should he reap the whirlwind with a pliable Israel to target instead?
