I choose to say it’s God

“God is to us a God of deliverances; And to GOD the Lord belong escapes from death.” - Psalm 68:20

A few hours ago, a rocket fired by terrorists in Gaza plowed through the roof of a synagogue in a Negev town, exploding right inside the building. It’s January 17, a Saturday – the Sabbath or Shabbat – when Jews gather in their synagogues for services that continue through the greater part of the day.

Shortly before this rocket slammed into the building, the worshippers stepped out for a 10-minute break. Not a soul was injured or killed.

I’ve lost track of the number of times these Kassams – so readily called “home-made” rockets by unsympathetic western “experts” who consequently justify their condemnation of Israel’s responses as “disproportionate” – have detonated inside school buildings and kindergartens, or rammed their way into high-rise apartments, and yet missed killing or wounding Jews – many times children – who just “happened” to have vacated the place a few minutes before.

Last week, Arabs in southern Lebanon fired three Grad rockets into northern Israel. One hit a care home for the elderly and exploded inside the room of a man who had gone downstairs to have his breakfast. A few minutes earlier and …

Something else I’ve lost track of is the number of emails I have received and read of people who are outraged at Israel, accusing the IDF of committing “genocide,” “massacres” and “murder” and justifying the calls by Israel-haters – like the Indonesia demonstrators pictured on the homepage of the Ha’aretz website this morning waving placards calling for Israel to be wiped off the face of the earth, and the Floridians who chanted “Nuke, nuke Israel.”

What really seems to get these people is the fact that “only” 13 Israelis have been killed in the three-week-long Operation Cast Lead, as opposed to well over a thousand Palestinian Arabs.

The critics can’t stomach this. It feeds their hatred and fuels their lust for revenge.

Some try to explain the discrepancy in casualties by pointing to Israel’s superior weaponry and firepower.

Habitually disregarded is the Arab side’s deliberate and determined effort to kill Jewish men, women and children as compared to the Jewish side’s efforts NOT to kill civilians among the “Palestinians.”

The numbers game doesn’t wash with me. If the Arabs had the weapons (and they are working towards acquiring them and plan to use them when they do) Israel’s casualties would number in the tens of thousands, and more, deliberately killed.

And where would the world’s tears be then? Rather than horror there would be relief – the feeling that the Jews “got what they deserved.” I don’t think this. I’ve monitored the situation long enough to know it.

Jews and Muslim Arabs are different people. The latter worship death, the former cherish life.

Despite its citizens having lived for eight years under almost daily rocket fire (that’s twice as long as the Second World War), Israel does not carpet bomb the Gaza Strip like the British fire-bombed Dresden and other German towns – when they deliberately incinerated hundreds of thousands of civilians – civilians who were not even being used as human shields by the Nazis.

The Israelis don’t drench Gaza with tank and howitzer fire – every target is carefully selected. When the IDF fired on the United Nations aid building this week, it was in response to Arab fire directed from the building.

The world went apoplectic – I applauded. In my mind – the arrogant United Nations – which shares an enormous amount of guilt for the situation that exists in Gaza today, would be a worthwhile target even without Hamas’ exploitation of it.

This is a war Israel did not ask for and did not want. But it is a war. And the casualties are casualties of war.

Blame for the Arab dead and wounded lies squarely at the door of the Arabs – of Hamas and the PLO and Egypt. Israel pleaded with the “Palestinians” not to fight – warning that the IDF would hurt them – that its weapons were far superior. But stubbornly, suicidally, evilly, the Arabs pushed and pushed until they pushed themselves over the edge.

As I see this conflict – where the Israelis say their prayers and ask the Almighty’s protection before going into battle, while the Arabs try to kill in the name of their god and for him – the Muslim deity is as ineffective as was the one called upon by the prophets of Ba’al on Mount Carmel all those centuries ago.

The LORD God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – He is God. He is also the Commander of Army of the Lord. I will praise Him for every report of protection and aid to Israel’s soldiers. And I dispute and reject the claims of all those who accuse Israel of fighting an unrighteous war.

I say, the world will find a reason to be angry at Israel and Jews because it is the world. Might as well give them an actual reason, and give G-d a reason to step up even more than we have been seeing H-m do in this battle everyday. Hope they get started on this thing soon

Well said. No other nation would have been as tolerant as Israel has been with rockets being fired daily by Hamas from Gaza. God has been protecting the people of Israel. The god of Hamas is powerless. Israel is not the culprit.

I agree whole heartedly with you on this one! If the Hamas would leave the Israelites alone, this would not have happened! I say, go for it Israel. I do not agree to killing and murdering, BUT, as it was in the Old Testament, the Children of God were told to destroy their enemies or their enemies would destroy them! I am not afraid to say I LOVE YOU ISRAEL! God bless your efforts in protecting your citizens! If it were the other way around, the world would still blame Israel! Hang in there my Brothers and Sisters!

I too, also pray for the safe return of Gilad! He deserves to have more than just a meddal of honor! He went out of his way to help his fellow citizens, and the terrorist Hamas stole him form his family. I hope he is returned alive, and if so, should be supported for the rest of his natural life, for all he has done, and for what he has been going through with these terrorist devils!

Bless you Stan for courage to live in the land of Israel and to confront the world’s antisemitism. Your stance to speak truth and comfort Israel is a blessing.

Just last Sunday, many of us attended one of “support Israel rallies” here in central Florida at a very busy intersection.. We number 300 plus, and a majority of all passing cars saw that we were supporting Israel and the overwhelming portion of them were honking their horns and giving thumbs up. There are countless believers who love the Lord and know that the Lord will bless all who bless Israel.
“May they prosper who love thee Israel.”

    Bless you and your house,

I am WITH Israel on this Gaza/Hamas situation. It has always been the way of the world to ‘blame Israel’, God said it would be. I also fully believe God is protecting Israel at this time and all HE has written will come to pass. Pray for the peace of Israel.

Zechariah 12:9 “And it shall come to pass in that day, That I will seek to destroy all nations that come against Jerusalem”.
It looks like this scripture will soon be coming to pass, since the United Nations ( All Nations) are getting involved with this Israeli war!
Israel you must seek the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and begin to sing with loud voices songs to the praise of the Lord, because his mercy and glory is forever in all Israel! Hallelujah and Amen!!!

I agree with every word Stan. The amont of Miracles is amazing, And, the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is to be praised with all our being. It is only because of Him that Israel’s citizens are protected. If this Allah is so great, why is there so many Palestinians killed?? What use to him is dead warriors?? they can’t bring victory only defeat. So Praise the ONLY living G-d who is in control of the situation. I hope that this hopless government doesn’t cave in to the world media and walk out before finihing it’s mission.

I am wholly in agreement with you. Of course the world hate Israel as they hate God and all things holy. But their efforts can only prove futile because He that keeps Israel neither sleeps nor slumbers. He said He would plant Israel and that no one will ever uproot them. Israel should just trust in The Lord their God because He will surely keep His covenant. The Arabs are suicidal, and they serve a god that is appeased with bloodshed. But those that hate Israel shall eat their own flesh and drink their own blood; Iran, Syria, Hamas, Hezbolla, Lebanon etc will spill their own blood.

Now that a ‘cease-fire’ is tentatively in place, my overriding thought at the moment is a fierce kind of thought directed at the Israeli leadership: ‘Don’t you dare, don’t you dare withdraw the IDF without bringing Gilad Schalit home…if you want to show the voting public how tough and reliable you are this close to the election (the cynic in me says), then do this one thing. Bring this young man home.’

I am not trying to win anything. I am a follower of Christ only. He has already won the victory. There is nothing more to be done. Teaching a false gospel concerning the Jews is not what the Bible does. Jesus made very important statements concerning the utter destruction of Israel and how, through the apostle Paul, that Israel is made up of only those who believe on Christ Jesus. It is no other way.

Jews who do not accept Christ Jesus do not practice “Old Testament religion;” they are not almost Christians, lacking only acceptance of the Messiah and the New Testament. They do not worship the true God, not even the “God of the Old Testament” Jesus was quite adamant: If they had believed Moses, they would believe Him. (John 5:46-47) They don’t believe the Old Testament either. The religion of Judaism is a Talmudic faith, not Biblical. Those who support, as the Christian Zionists do, the secular nation of Israel at this time, simply because they are so-called Jews, and claim the premillenial system relies on Israel as a pivotal aspect of itself, give succor to apostates and enemies of Christ, and actually encourage them in their unbelief.

So the egg is the Scripture which restifies to these things and in time it will be fully on the face of those who preach a different gospel.

I will, if permitted, make an affirmation that God does allow the rain to fall on everyone. For whatever reason He has He does spare people from time to time. I am not a Mormon nor ever want to be one but there is a true story where the early Mormon settlers had their crop problems and the locusts were coming in to provide even more devistation upon those poor mormons. They prayed that God would spare their crop and He provided birds to desimate the locust insects.

Yes, God does what He chooses to do and I love Him for that. Israel was spared some more grief as Stan’s story indicates, but what more can be attributted to it except His soveriegnty.

Stan. “… for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Rev 19:10
Stop playing people’s emotions to get their support. Study Bible prophecy and preach REAL truth. The real God of the Bible has an awesome “Master Plan”, and it will do you well to study and know this Plan. God is NOT a respecter of persons, and is NOT now “trying” to save this world.. He is calling some, predestined, to rule and teach in His coming world Government. “But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.” (Rev 20:5) Focus on the truth, on His ultimate Plan, and stop grabbing at each little peace of emotionality you can get your hands on. Doran, this is what i believe, God has never forsaken Israel, His promises are irrevocable especially the Abrahamic covenant that promises the land to Israel, it is unconditional. The Jews are beloved for the fathers’ (patriarchs’) sake, the church never has been and never will be Israel. The Jews are God’s chosen people and we from the nations have been grafted in and drawn near to the commonwealth of Israel, though Israel at the moment is without priest or king, when the dry bones (Ezekiel 37) come together God will breath Life/Spirit into them, until that time we Christians do well to remind Him as watchmen to establish Jerusalem a praise in the earth - read Rom 11, especially verses 15 and 26. Dear brother Stan,

Thank-you for your continuing efforts on behalf of the Jewish people.

I found an interesting article written by Dr. Charles L. Feinberg, a Messianic Jew, which was written in 1939/1940. Although these words are 70 years old, they struck a chord.

    < Quote <
“Since Israel has been suffering for centuries she has not lacked for critics, self-appointed, self-sustained, and assuredly self-opinionated, to tell her the reason for her trials.

Zechariah gives a timely word here. In the first chapter of his prophecy, after noting the lessons for post-captivity Israel in the history of their forefathers’ disobedience and punishment, he declares God’s love and jealousy for Israel.

God says through the prophet: “And I am very sore displeased with the nations that are at ease; for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction” (Zech 1:15).

It is as though a father were reluctantly punishing his own child with a stick or with a word of rebuke or restraint and a stranger came to chasten with a rod of
    iron. ” < end quote.

Dr Feinberg draws the analogy between Job’s sufferings and Israel’s sufferings which I thought was interesting. Like Job, Israel is mercilessly accused of all sin by those who are sinners themselves. God declared Job righteous but his friends repeatedly pointed out his hidden flaws. Yet in the end Job was vindicated, while his accusers were put to shame.

I will leave you with another great quote from Dr. Feinberg which he wrote during the holocaust.

“How unfair and cruel and inhumane and unfeeling and harsh, yea, almost savage and barbarous, have been many of the criticisms against Israel!

She knows full well how Job felt when pelted with unfeeling words from
    self-styled physicians.

St. Augustine tells the story of the man who complained to Almighty God about a neighbor, saying, “0 Lord, take away this wicked person !” And God said, “Which?”

How foolhardy to judge without the mind of God!

May God grant that we shall not be found in the role of critic or judge
    of His suffering people Israel!

Chris - You are right God has not ever forsaken Israel, But the New Testament O Jesus Christ says that Israel are those made up only of those who believe on Jesus Christ as Messiah. So you tell me please Chris, who would that be today? Who are the true covenant keepers except those in Christ?

Believe me that I wish no harm to anyone outside of Christ but we as His followers must recognize that not anyone who does not call upon His name for salvation can be saved any other way.

The Jews of OT days had their covenant relationship with God broken by God Himself according to Zechariah 11. Do you believe this? If so then you are the road to understanding that the true land of God is all the land occupied by believers on Christ Jesus.

I understand that Stan may not allow you, Chris, to read this because Stan believes anything other that Jews and the land is a lie. But the Word of God is not a lie and the New Covenant of Christ through His inspired writers say differently to Stan. No offense towards the man but this is just how he has treated a couple of my posts and that is too bad.

Dear Doran, thank you for replying, as you know many times Israel has backslided and repented. The new covenant was made with Israel, see Jer.31.31 and Jesus ratified the covenant at the last supper Matt26.26-28 the first ‘christians’ were all Jews many were ’saved’ including many priests and pharisees also many that were zealous of the law, Acts 21.20, Yes, Jesus is THE way, THE truth and THE life, and the body of believers is both Jewish and gentile, but the roots of christianity are Jewish, our Messiah is Jewish but He is also the King that will sit on David’s throne in Jerusalem on earth, read carefully Romans c9 to c11, Israel will be restored and be the head of the nations Isaiah 2.3 Zec 8.23, there is a great future for Israel. as to who are the true ‘covenant’ keepers, shall we let God be the judge of that? Shalom

To those people I say, don’t read this blog if it “offends” you so…and don’t peddle your ignorance here; no one is listening.
I hope and pray that God will open the eyes of those who cannot–refuse to–see the Truth. May His Mercy be shown toward you and bring you to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

On eagle’s wings He The “Great Iam” bears His beloved ISRAEL….the apple of His eye….Who can contend with this? Why do nations conspire and the people plot in vain? against the Lord and his anointed saying “let us burst their bonds asunder ” He who sits in the heaven laughs and terrifies his enemies saying “I have set my king on ZION, my holy hill” (Psalm:2:1-9) (Psalm:137:5,6)

Hi Stan. thanks for that information. It is so good to see and hear those things since God is good and he takes care of his flock.
It is amazing to see how the Lord God of Israel keeps his people save and Allah with all his attitude can’t even save “his” people even when they have been warned. But it is as God said, that there is no other God besides him which can save, there is none.

Keep up the good work and God bless you, my brother in Jesus Christ.

    Ralf

Stan Goodenough, Are you an impartial journalist or one who displays the same bias as the drive-by media on the left. The following videos show the other Jews who represent the other side of judaism.

Wow! A wonderful, God-glorifying article. But I’m also greatly encouraged by the many, many positive comments. It is sad to find so many Christians who believe the media, and exalt so-called human-rights above God’s Word.

Doran - I am an unashamedly biblically-biased journalist - that is to say, my starting point for objective reporting is not the secular-humanist’s point of view but the Bible-believer’s. You’d be amazed what clarity of vision this gives. As for these “other Jews” - they are of the same sect that volunteered to serve in the mass-murderer Yasser Arafat’s “government” after the signing of the Oslo Accords. They may call themselves Jews - but of all the groups in Judaism they are the furthest removed from their own race, in my opinion.
