With less than 12 weeks to go to Israel’s general elections, the country’s former foreign minister, finance minister and prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, is powering ahead in the polls.
A survey conducted on October 27 gave the Kadima Party of disgraced Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni 29 seats while Netanyahu’s Likud got 27 and Labor scored 11.
In the three weeks since then, however, quite a change has taken place.
According to new poll results published locally Thursday (November 20), if Israelis were to vote today they would give the Likud a whopping 32 Knesset seats, Kadima 26, and Labor a mere eight.
Altogether Israel’s center-right bloc would come out with 64 members of Knesset while the center-left would garner 56.
This would make for a strong, right-thinking government that could help Israel as a nation to face up to America’s by then just three-week-old president, Barack Hussein Obama.
Envisaging such a, to him frightening, scenario, Labor leader Ehud Barak sought to sow fear among his countrymen in what was also a rather transparent attempt to bolster his party’s flagging fortunes.
“The Likud and Netanyahu will lead to a diplomatic dead end, the Likud and Netanyahu will lead us to a confrontation with the whole world,” he ranted.
His audience - the Israeli electorate - is famously fickle; quickly swayed by the climate of the day; easily influenced by the media.
One such press person is Ha’aretz journalist Yossi Verter.
In an apparent bid to quieten his own thumping heart, Verter acknowledged Thursday that “it’s clear the mood on the Israeli street is in the Likud’s favor,” but hastened to reassure himself, saying “it must be noted that we are [only] at the start of the campaign.”
“The gloves are still on, Netanyahu has not yet been worked over by Kadima or by Labor. Things could definitely change,” he wrote, hopefully.
In fact, not only Israel’s leftists, but the liberal elites of the western world will certainly be gearing up for battle to ensure that Obama does not have “Bibi” to deal with. That could really put a spanner in the White House works.
Netanyahu has pledged to wage a clean campaign. What we will surely see from the left side, though, is an intensifying mud-raking and mud-slinging effort to turn Israel’s undecided voters away from him and from the Likud.
What Barak started today was only a shot across the bows. There will be some ugly stuff happening domestically in the Land. But we can also confidently be on the lookout for widespread and quite blatant interference in Israel’s internal affairs from a whole pack of western nations. The United States has not held back from such manipulation in the past and I believe it quite probable that we will soon hear displeasure at the prospect of a Netanyahu win voiced in some form or another from “sources close to President-Elect Obama.”
There will be more scare-mongering. Israelis will hear whispered threats about how their already-universally-despised nation will be hung out to dry by the international community; how they will be completely isolated if they put Netanyahu back in the Prime Minister’s Office.
American and other lovers of Israel: We must be ready for this and prepare to respond forthrightly to our representatives and in letters to the editors of our newspapers demanding that our lawmakers allow the Israeli people to choose their leader without interference or manipulation.
Sadly these days, the ones who ‘own the media’ [by eithe pay offs or threats] are the ones the public is most likely to vote for–as seen in the recent US elections. Unless GOd intervense we are subject to the new rules that the one with the most money and the biggest mouth wins. We must educte the public to CARE ENOUGH ABOUT THEIR COUNTRY TO RESEARCH THE ISSUES AND MAKE AND EDUCATED AND PRAYERFUL & WISE DECISION AND NOT LISTEN TO THE MEDIA! I cannot say that loudly enough!!!! We MUST stand up and raise our voices. ARISE! ARISE!
Shalom Stan,
You concluded your article saying: ‘American and other lovers of Israel: We must be ready for this and prepare to respond forthrightly to our representatives and in letters to the editors of our newspapers demanding that our lawmakers allow the Israeli people to choose their leader without interference or manipulation.

Prepared For Duty - More Than Willing To Join The Ranks For A Truly Righteous Cause - ( I love what you said about U.S. Citizens Speaking Out For A “NO MANIPULATION CLAUSE” as it concerns our lawmakers/ political power players and - I Love Bibi!
May G-ds quenching and holy fire burn deeply in Bibi’s spirit, heart and soul and that of Israel. May they those that love the L-rd come forth in the strength of the L-rd!
Amen And So Be It In Messiah!
Perhaps we can discuss among ourselves how to put together a campaign addressing our lawmakers. Already praying that the L-rd would go before us so that in Him we can make a true impact.
GOVERNMENT BY MEDIA.
It is clear that the so called “Free” world is actually governed by the media. The media which is owned outright by the “new world order”.
The elections are only an occasion for the media to get their man into the power so he can rubber stamp their campaigns into law.
Britains last few elections and most obviously the recent US presidential election illustrate the arrogant power of the media to ride roughshod over the people.
I expect no less for the Israeli election.
There is no way to actually find out what is going on in the world other than personal watchfulness and the internet, ie bypass the mainline media.
Pray for wisdom, which God promises to those who ask.
Pray for wisdom for those trying to present an honest voice to get their view heard.
Stan, as you know, I love Israel just as you do. And I’m hoping Netanyahu will win the election. But not for the same reason as most.
I don’t think the history books of 500 years from now will tell us all about Israel’s pain and then say, “but along came this tall, handsome, brilliant, eloquent man and he really saved the day and turned things around and Israel was saved.”
I know they won’t say that because I’ve read another history book, one that tells us the future, and that’s not how it turns out. Actually, this history book tells that the situation continues to deterioarate until the Messiah comes, this long-awaited Messiah who ALONE will bring the salvation of Israel.
AND THIS MESSIAH, IT SAYS, WILL NOT SHARE HIS GLORY WITH ANY MAN.
So yes, I do hope Netanyahu is re-elected so that Israel can finally come to the conclusion that there isn’t a man on earth, nor a plan on earth, that can save Israel. ONLY when Israel realizes that, ONLY when Israel has had every kind of man and plan from the far left to the far right and sees for herself that there is NO ONE and NOTHING that can save her, only then will she finally fall on her knees and seek her God.
So yes, let Netanyahu be re-elected and let’s get this part over with.
Right you are Stan. But you are in the right place to keep putting out to the people of Israel the truth. Please find a way of getting your views to as many people as possible. That is imperitive if BIbi is to get the majority of votes. All I hope is that Australia will be with you in supporting Netanyahu for PM.
AMEN, MY PRAYERS IS THAT GOD WILL REMOVE THIS MAN FROM BEING PRESIDENT BEFORE HE STEPS FOOT INTO THE WHITEHOUSE. I KNOW GOD WILL AND IS ALREADY PUNISHING AMERICA FOR TURNING AWAY FROM OUR ALMIGHTY GOD, AND TURNIG OUR BACK ON ISRAEL. REGARDLESS MY HEART IS IN ISRAEL, YES I LOVE AMERICA, BUT I LOVE MY LORD’S CHOSEN NATION AND HER PEOPLE. MAY MY LORD EVER PROTECT HIS CHOSEN NATION AND PEOPLE.
How prophetic…yes, Mr Barak, the whole world will one day gather against Israel and we Christian Zionist from around the world will never cease to pray for the peace of Jerusalem
Thank you Stan for giving us the truth on this matter
. I have always felt good in my spirit about Benjamin Netanyahu,
I have listened to him speak on c-span here in America. I know he is a good and honest man!. The kind of man God loves!!
I have read some negative things about him over the past couple of weeks, Thanks for informing me why!!
On one of Benjamin Netanyahus speeches on c- spam he warned that, ” the Shiites are presently the greatest threat to Israel”. I thought it seemed ironic that Sadam Hussan was hanged for bruterly killing 125 Shiites, Saddam Hussan deserved his death sentence, they hanged him for killing some of the greatest enemies to Israel. He should have been rewarded for that !! !God worked that out for the good of Israel. God is so good!!!!
IT’s interesting to see how the left works and thinks. Canada, US, Israel, they always use their weapon of choice: Shoot the leader, (in this case Bibi) and praise the left with all kind of hopefull messages that only keep people from thinking by themselves. There’s no free lunch. Personal responsibility is the first mark of a person, then of a nation. Anyone whobelieves the lies of the left who did what in this century except kill the Tsar and his family, bring down the kingdoms of Europe, and now is working to destroy the England Crown, the USA and Israel, will be made slave by the left also. Thinking freely is a crime for the left. They want to hold us captives, that they may enjoy a good life at our expense. Hopefully, Obama in the US will show is cards on time before the Israeli election that many wake up and preserve themselves of those who want their destruction.
Stan, What can I do other than pray…I am not good at the Politcal info…alot I don’t understand, how can I help, spread the word, pass out flyers? Email…I hate the degredation of Israel and so many people don’t even know to look and listen to what is up in Israel…Thank you for all you do Stan…You are so very much appreciated!
D’Ann
It seems that Israel is determined to shoot themselves in both feet. Bibi is by far
the best candidate & exactly what they need, BUT will they realize this.
As for that M maguire’s comments about Israel needing to be punished, why don;t
these people just butt out. These suppossed do gooders, like Carter as well are
just barking up the wrong tree.
All I can say is YHWH please help us we are making such a mess of this lovely
world you gave us, Please send Messiah Y’shua soon, the Prince of Peace, the
Sar shalom, so that Jerusalem may be a Praise in ALL the earth. I pray for the
peace of Jerusalem to come even Messiah Y’shua!
If Bibi wins the election and stands firm against ceding the land he will ‘anger’ the nations I am sure. Yes the nations will window dress their anger by telling Israel that she is wrong in not dickering with devils - she will again be condemned but that will not alter the end result.
Bibi may very well be the vessel by which greater judgment of the nations is ushered in according to G-ds plan to judge all those nations which come up against Jerusalem, the land and the people of Israel.
We need a strong Israel to offset the coming misguided Obama administration filled with the misguided Clintonites.
“Put not your trust in man”, the Bible says. God sets kings up, and He removes them according to His will and plan. Christians must get in line with God’s will, whatever that may be, whether we like and understand it or not. We may surmise what will happen, but until that thing we imagine may happen, it is just conjecture. We just don’t know. That’s why Jesus taught us to pray “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. Wait on the LORD, running ahead of Him will do no one any good. Israel, vote as you choose and then we shall see what will happen next. The prophets I trust have spoken in the Bible. These are the only words I trust to be the absolute truth, because they were, without any doubt, led by God Almighty. Creator and sustainer of the universe….I praise His Name.
Bless you for “standing on the wallâ€!
I am grieved that Scripture states that judgment IS coming to those who have caused the “dividing “of His Land, which has been ongoing since Balfour. And…I am grieved over the “prince of the power of the air†driving the media throughout the world. He still is the god of this world…. for the time being.
But, as we look up for the coming of our Lord, my heart’s desire is that whatever “administration†comes to power, it brings with it far greater freedoms for our brothers and sisters, the Jewish evangelical believers in Israel, to openly share the Gospel. May the Ruach haKodesh lead myriads of G-d’s chosen people to personally know their Messiah through their labor in the fields!
Baruch HaShem!
As we know, Israel is God’s timepiece. The nations of the world are aligning to come togother against the one and only nation created by Almighty God, as his chosen nation. They, at present, do not fear the wrath of God, but surely will in the near future. As an American, I pray that we will not turn against his people, but, I also fear that will happen. Obama, this man from the shadows, has already indicated his support for the division of Israel. George Bush is not innocent in this matter either, as he has pushed for the same goal. Olmert seems almost traiterous in his push to give away this sacred land. It is my hope that Bibi will win the top job there in the upcoming election. If he suceeds, I believe he will stand firm for the good of his nation. May God bless Israel. I pray for her every time I pray. May the real Messiah return soon, and bring to this troubled land, and the whole world.
I believe that Benyamin Netanyahu is God’s man for this hour. I’m not sure how the outworking of that will look like, but my prayer is that the Lord would continue to prepare him for the end-time job he is being raised up to do. Again, I’m not sure of the exact job description, but my prayer is that God would complete the taking down of the present evil and corrupt government and bring Bibi to the position God is grooming him for.
KarenMarie, you said:
“Bibi may very well be the vessel by which greater judgment of the nations is ushered in according to G-ds plan to judge all those nations which come up against Jerusalem, the land and the people of Israel.”
I strongly agree with you and the exact way you put it. I believe Bibi is a vessel in God’s hands, and that he will be used to do as you say here.
And no, Paula (Maillet), I do not believe Bibi will go down in history books (let’s remember whose books they are!) as:
“this tall, handsome, brilliant, eloquent man [that] really saved the day and turned things around and Israel was saved.â€
but he may well go down in heaven’s journal’s as a humble and willing and couragous servant of El Elyon - the Most High God - who was willing to let God use him - for such a time a this! This is my prayer for Bibi.
I pray Israel’s election is not manipulated and controlled by the left media who put Obama in in America. Whatever happens, God is in control and His Will will be done in Israel.
http://www.cbn.com/CBNnews/484085.aspx Just like I said a couple months ago. I can just hear Israel’s enemies ” we need a cease fire, we are running out of missles. Ok, now ” How is this possible ? insanity
And then the King of Jordan calls up and says ” we need a meeting. Be careful responding to these attacks because we wouldn’t want to upset my people.

Keep your eyes peeled for the genious with the perfect solution
Shalom Stan,
Yes Bibi is the right medicine for Israel as we get closer to the 2nd coming every day . Since Obama was elected here in the US there is a sinking ship feeling among many . I have no doubt, that he will lead this country deeper into the abyss of sin and rebellion against God. Abortion on demand, pornography, and homosexuality, are either considered normal behaviors or just ignored by a majority here now. George Barna’s polls reveal that although over 80% of Americans claim a belief in God, only 4% have a Biblical world view. That means we are not a Christian nation. That means that a majority of people sitting in churches across this land have a false religion and a false hope. False gospels are being preached. The Prosperity gospel (aka health & wealth) are creating mega churches where repentance and obedience is never dared preached for fear of losing pew sitters and their donations. Most are nothing more than entertainment centers, complete with worldly music, flashes of flesh and strobe lights. Tattoos are proudly displayed by low cut dresses and body piercings abound. Here are filthy rich preachers telling people that if they give, they too will become rich. They are boasting in the pulpit of their riches, while unashamedly taking God’s money out of the offering plate and living lavish lifestyles. Oh woe is us we have sunk to new low levels. Nevertheless, there is still a remnant here of people who have not bent the knee to Baal. That remnant, that 4%, must get on their knees and pray like they have never prayed before. I pray that Netanyahu will be elected to stand up to Obama and his love affair with Hamas and other Palestinian terrorists. I pray for revival in America. I pray for Israel to return to the God of Jacob. I pray for blindness to be lifted both in America and Israel. And I pray for the rapid return of our Lord Jesus. Even so come!
Shalom Jeremy
So lets see if I have this right. 80% U.S. believe they are Christian. Over 50% of the 60% that voted, voted for abortion on demand, babies for research ( even though adult stem cells appear to work just as well ), negotiate with our enemies. OH, and 70% of the Jewish vote was for Obama as well. That’s a big pill to swallow all at once aint it
My letter to BIBI in my Blog Ralphs Rant
Dear Bibi:
My name is Ralph Levy and I have a blog called Ralph’s Rant which is a Pro Israel Blog. I would like to make some suggestions regarding your election campaign coming up for the elections in February 2009. First of all I would like to say while it is good that you are trying to appeal to the centrist movement of the so called peace process population too much of that type of approach will scare away most of us who think that we have been going on the wrong path of the peace process. A lot of Israelis including most who support you think that we are already on a wrong course and the question that many of us are asking ourselves why should there be a new leader in Israel if he is going to repeat the same failed policy of concessions, one sided negotiations, and also the same lack of understanding of the right of center political electorate. Start to show voters you have some backbone, don’t talk to the PA and the US, and the Left ignoring the Right you will loose the election and trust. Start to question the Brits publicly and strongly for example about their Anti Israeli attitude, start criticizing the present appeasement process a lot more and show people this will never work. Start talking about Jordan as a Palestinian state and how King Abdullah is a apartheid king over a majority of Palestinians. Start talking about the British mandate of 1922 as law which gave everything west of the River Jordan as a Jewish homeland. very few people know about it, and we can score points. Talk about the growing Saudi Arabian influence at universities around the world that influence young people to become Anti Israel and antisemitic. Start pointing out about the growing Saudi Influence in NGO’s such as donations made to Ex presidents such as the Clinton Libray and the Carter Center for Peace which influence peace talks and anti Israel attitudes. Criticize and do something about UK and EU goverment funding of Israeli left wing organizations to spy on settlements and influence in Israel. In other words have some backbone earn our respect as well as the center. While I am a American I have risked my life for Israel. Do something about the Rockets in Gaza, don’t give up Israeli territory in the south as a land corridor, keep Jerusalem, keep most of the settlements, Keep the Jewish part of Hebron. No land exchange, No 95% give up of land, Jerusalem as the Captital of Israel, and negotiate real and deep secure borders. You can take my advice or ignore it but failure could possible cost you the election, and also risk alienating some of us as well as possible cause a Civil War. I am close to the point of giving up on the peace process and am starting to wonder if expulsion is not the better solution. Please I beg prove me wrong and give us hope that the backbone of Israel is still there. It is important that Israelis and Jews have a homeland they don’t want the same old leftest ideology that has occurred over the past three years with Kadima. What Israel needs is someone to say no to bad Peace Deals not another Yes Man.
Sincerely
Ralph Levy

The year 2009 is set to begin with decisive issues!
At such a crucial time Israel needs a leader who is a man after God’s own heart.
The best strategy against the conspiracies of the media et al is to accompany appropriate action with prayer and fasting.
Thanks for the info which provides the ‘watching’ part Stan!
GOD can overule the conspiracies of men
Olmert was a leader whom God used as a channel of judgment
[& the failure of the Lebanon war resulted]
because of the people’s willingness to largely support the Sharon policy of land for peace deals…BUT Gaza has proved that to be folly.
Netanyahu was the one who was unpopular when he opposed it and resigned ..
they all tbought that he was too radical.- all except GOD it seems!
It goes without saying that there is NO way BIBI will ultimately solve the problems since it is spiritual warfare and therefore not possible- and pressures will be enormous on him to do deals with Obama et al.
BUT- God will choose a righteous leader in as far as it is humanly possible for the end time scenario.
Bibi’s policies may well be the catalyst that will precipitate the Ezekiel war!
The Islamists want Jerusalem and Bibi and his Likud colleagues are adamant that Jerusalem is NOT on the agenda!
Kadima and Labour will divide it for sure. They have the spirit of Esau! and will throw away the divine inheritance.
Zechariah indicates that Jerusalem will be the burdensome stone that will injure all those who attempt to mess around with it.
GOD is NOT negotiating over dividing Jerusaelm and Ben Netanyahu has the same agenda….this is KEY to the end time scenario and I firmly believe that God has a man after his own heart prepared for such a crucial time as this .
Who else but Bibi will arise in the present political climate to defend the status of Jerusalem as the indivisible Capital of the State of Israel …?
Bush and Rice are still pushing for it even at this late hour in their personal glory campaign and Olmert Livni Barak Peres et al are all willing to capitulate.
But God is systematically removing them from power - one by one.
Sharon went first- big time - since he he was the first to give away Land which God had restored to His People according to His eternal covenant … dangerous to mess with that!
The rest who believe in the same agenda will follow!
Who is left that will oppose further diminishing Israel’s defensive borders and relinquish control of The city of The KING-Jerusalem- even while rockets are daily bombarding from Gaza?!
Only Bibi and the newly shaped Likud Party who are experienced men of moral stature and strong convictions .
There just is not anyone else on the current scene with the calibre to do it.
The Muslims will not accept anything less and war will result ….
When the going gets too tough for mere men to handle GOD Himself will tackle it!
Israel will only look to GOD directly when the veil is removed and that will quite possibly occur in the Gog /Magog invasion when GOD has said in Ezekiel that HE will deliver them out of the hand of the evil coalition and thereby make Himself known to them by His divine intervention .
As I see it the facts on the ground provide enough information for us to discern what God has on the agenda and this is imperative in order to pray with effect at such a sensitive time in the Divine Programme.
