The Land of Israel is the biblical, historic and exclusive homeland of the Jewish people. It is Israel’s country. Although swallowed and made part of other empires through the ages, it has never been the national homeland of any other people.
At the heart of the Land of Israel lie the mountains of Israel, known since ancient days as Samaria and Judea. Today all who reject Jewish ownership of, and sovereignty over, these lands call them the “West Bank” or, more particularly, the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.”
In all of history the land has only been known as “the West Bank” for 19 brief years. But the name has stuck - and has been successfully employed to deaden awareness and resistance from Bible-believing people.
This land constitutes the bulk of what the world wants to give to the Arabs for the creation of a Palestinian state. For decades, the small nation of Israel has been under relentless international pressure to surrender it. Today, as 2008 and the second Bush administration are coming to a close, it increasingly looks like this land will indeed be taken from the Jews to appease the Arabs. And this as Jews and Christians look largely disinterestedly on.
Jewish and Christian readers, let me tell you a little about this “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.”
The “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank” is the very cradle of Jewish civilization.
In the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank” Israel’s founding fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, lie buried.
Their wives lie with them or, as in the case of Jacob’s wife Rachel, in Bethlehem - in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.”
Rachel’s Joseph is also buried in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank” - in Shechem.
It was on the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank” that Abraham stood when God told him to look to the north, to the south, to the east and to the west, promising that all the land he could see would be given to his descendants, “forever.”
Jacob was traveling through the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank” when he lay down to sleep, and dreamed of a staircase reaching into heaven, with angels descending and ascending as God spoke from on high saying: Jacob, the land on which you are lying is the land I am giving to you and your descendants after you as an everlasting possession. That place is called Bethel, or Beit El. It is in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.”
Joshua, Moses’ successor and that great Israeli conqueror is buried in the Mountains of Ephraim, in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.”
For close on 400 years the nation of Israel worshiped God in the Tabernacle at Shiloh, in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.”
Gideon was threshing wheat in Ophrah, in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank” when the Angel of the Lord called him to judge the Israelites. Other judges, including the famous Deborah, lived in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.”
Ruth met Boaz, who wooed and married her in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.”
Their grandson, the Shepherd King David, was born in Bethlehem, in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.” For the first seven-and-a-half years of his reign he ruled in Hevron - or Hebron - in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.”
Ancient Jerusalem, which David then established as the capital of his kingdom, is in the heart of the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.”
The heart of Jerusalem is the Temple Mount. Site of Solomon’s splendid first Temple and the Exiles-rebuilt second Temple, it is in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.”
And here, in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank” God’s shekinah glory rested visibly on the only place the Almighty calls “holy.”
Is it clear yet? Can it possibly be any more so?
Indeed it is clear. Those who do not see it simply don’t want to.
I want to tell you something, dear Christians and Jews. The roots of Am Yisrael (the nation of Israel) are planted deeply and irremovably in the “Israeli-occupied Arab West Bank.” Judea and Samaria is the cradle of Jewish nationhood. Permitting these territories to be given to another people (who, as every historian must testify, have never had a national homeland there or anywhere else) is to allow the Jews’ roots to be cut off. This nation - which has survived two millennia of dispersion precisely because its roots have been in these lands, and because their hope never died of one day returning to that land as their ancient prophets repeatedly reminded them they would - will not survive the severing of those roots.
Cut the Jewish people off from the place where they began and they will be left withering, then rendered extinct. No nation can live without its roots.
Neither can any faith. Christianity cannot survive without Israel.
The gentiles nations have rejected the Jews’ claim to these lands; have rejected their historic ties and and insist on treating Israel as a modern-day, 60-year-old democracy, and nothing more.
In so doing, they have rejected Israel’s God.
All who worship the God of Israel must oppose them, or join them in opposing Him.

You must obviously know very well what will happen in Judea and Samaria, it will come to pass, YHVH will not forsake his word. Sadly, as is happening all over the world, there is an all out war against G-D, and against those who love Him: It is happening with utter impunity, (the church walks against G-d, and follows man’s traditions, if even through ignorance). Let them all be taken in their own deceit, let enemies cheer their short lived possessions, which fly in the face of the righteous Word they have refused; while others are being sealed in their faith, (through their own seeking), their lamps are being filled, (for the wisdom of their Love), and they are being purified and made white before the Lord, (for obeying his Statutes and Commandments, and for accepting “His Yoke which is Light”). But, there must also be punishment for the apathetic, and those who have turned their backs to their inheritance, (paid for with the blood of their fathers). Those who seek to save themselves to the north, (may find themselves a target), while those who hold fast to the Great Kingdom you have described, will receive the “New Name” of the Lord. Just the opinion of one who believes every word of the Torah, Tanakh, and Septuagint, and realizes on cannot understand the one w/o other, a story of the end, from the beginning.
Well said my friend. My prayers are continuous for the U.S. to withdraw from any peace process concerning the division of His land. My prayer is for righteous men and women to encounter our president in his last days and show him truth, and to show him the consequences he is bringing on this country. It really made me see how firmly Satan is in control of both parties here in the USA. Undoubtedly, even if she does not believe in a 2 state solution she has caved to the “advisers ” who have said she must support this lie. She must not offend Muslim Americans to get elected ! How sad. As I have said in numerous posts , I believe America is doomed anyway due to her rejection of the God of Israel. Obama/ Biden will drag us into EU style redistribution and total secular humanism quicker than McCain/Palin,but ultimately it will probably be the Republicans who hand the USA over to the Antichrist. For all who hold the land promised to the people descended from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as sacred to the LORD Almighty God and see the circumstances now coming to pass as the fulfillment of the Holy Bible according to His WORD, these are the days of which the prophets, and our LORD and Savior Yeshua HaMashiach, have spoken. So much has been written so long ago of these times that while there was no re-establishment of Israel, little meaning was perceived of its significance. All of that is so changed now with the LORD having replanted Israel that one might wonder how anyone could miss the evidence of so much fulfilled scripture. But, they do.
Little realized by these same people that would barter Israel for their own selfish reasons is how much it is really going to cost the world for them to try and alter the words of the Holy Bible and take the land from Israel after Almighty God returned the Jewish people according to His WORD. They further do not realize that the Adversary would, if he could, destroy all of humanity to accomplish his objective of ruling the world in his way, or destroy it if he can’t have it his way. This is now what is upon us.
By Divine directive however, the LORD has a different destiny in mind, of which we can read about in the Holy Bible, and as we can see by the parts already accomplished, the rest is not far behind.
In his blind rage, the Adversary evidently does not care what might be tried. The deranged plan recently extolled by the Secretary of State again as the means to gain peace in the Middle East, that is to sever the heart of the promised land for the sake of an American administration idea (which now is beginning to look like a precursor to a more dangerous American adminstration plan after the election), such that he thinks he can forestall the fulfillment of the final chapters of the Revelation and the return of the Holy One of Israel to Jerusalem to rule.
We can thank Almighty God through the knowledge of His WORD that it is a plan doomed to failure, but not without the cost of unbelief being judged, both in Israel and abroad.
The issue of the attempt to separate Judaea and Samaria from the rest of the land is going to be the central cause for the flare-up of hostilities of the world war already in progress. As we have mentioned earlier, the antagonists listed in the Holy Bible are already in place to take the next steps that will result in the confrontation (the nuclear one, by the way) that will lead the world to seek the false peace, that also being the initiation of completing the seven years of the Revelation.
The admonition to ‘seek the face of the LORD while one still can’ is now more relevant than ever, for the time to do so is even shorter yet. Once the events of the Revelation commence, the scriptures tell how near impossible it will be to reach out to Him in those times of tribulation, for it is the house of Israel the LORD seeks to purify and redeem during the tribulation while the rest of the nations are judged and punished for their antagonism, antipathies, animosities and agression against Israel, His people and against His Holy WORD.

Amen to your article, and thank you for the education. Christians must oppose the dividing of Israel, even if our blind goivernment supports it, even if Israel’s government supports it. Why? Because God has already said what he would do to those who divided Israel. When 5/6 of the Russian coalition is destroyed there, I would not want it to be said that I supported ANY “land for peace” deal. The giving of even aqn square angstrom of land to the Palestinians only encourages them to hurt Israel more. Why? Because they are under GOD’S curse, as all those who cuse Israel are under God’s curse.

I enjoy reading your column very much. I have found it to be right in line with the facts regarding the nation of Israel, and current events in that area. I believe it is also very revelant to the prophetic nature of the unfolding happenings in the land of the Jew. As an American Christian, I am very concerned about what is going on there. I am even more concerned about the position my president has taken on the land for peace idea. It seems to me that any idiot would know that this will not work. I am greatly concerned about the position that the next president will take concerning Israel. I know that the Bible says that before the end all nations will turn against Israel. We are about there now. I love my country very much, but I think that Almighty God has allowed our leaders to be blind, because of our own sin. I just cannot understand why we would turn our back on the only friend we have in that region. Whatever happens, we can be sure that God will still be God, and the outcome will be right.

As things unfold, every time I sit quietly these days to reflect, a reminder wells up to just focus on Jesus who is Yeshua (or refocus if I’ve been reading the news). Eyes on Him. In my mind’s eye, He stands slightly in front of me, a little to the left, facing forward so I see His quiet back, feel the stillness that says He is ever-watchful and all-knowing, that there are no surprises, that He won the victory long ago. “Do you love Me?” He asked the other day. “Yes, Lord, I love You.” “Then trust Me with everything.” And there is some unformed longing in me that Christianity be cleaned up and stripped back to simple truths like this, back to a simple, unshakeable belief in Christ who is first and forever a Jew and who is Israel’s Messiah.

I greatly appreciate your insight and fortitude in standing for truth and justice. My prayers are with the people and nation of Israel, that G’d may redeem and reclaim His people and His nation complete without compromise.
As an American Christian, every day I pray for our leaders to come to God and bow down to HIS will and realize their error in trying to take away the Jewish nation birthright, but everyday I feel GOD is feeling more labor pains and is wanting to come to the end of HIS suffering. As you can tell many of us feel this way. With every passing day I fear that we are turning our back on our real “Forefathers”, for each of us are born from Abraham. When all these things have happened to you, the blessings and the curses that I have set before you, if you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God has driven you, and return to the Lord your God, and you and your children obey him with all your heart and with all your soul, just as I am commanding you today, then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you, gathering you again from all the peoples among whom the Lord your God has scattered you. Even if you are exiled to the ends of the world, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there he will bring you back.
The Lord your God will bring you into the land that your ancestors possessed, and you will possess it; he will make you more prosperous and numerous than your ancestors.
Moreover, the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, in order that you may live..
The Lord your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on the adversaries who took advantage of you.
Then you shall again obey the Lord, observing all his commandments that I am commanding you today, and the Lord your God will make you abundantly prosperous in all your undertakings, in the fruit of your body, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your soil. For the Lord will again take delight in prospering you, just as he delighted in prospering your ancestors, when you obey the Lord your God by observing his commandments and decrees that are written in this book of the law, because you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Surely, this commandment that I am commanding you today is not too hard for you, nor is it too far away.
It is not in heaven, that you should say, “Who will go up to heaven for us, and get it for us so that we may hear it and observe it?”
Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who will cross to the other side of the sea for us, and get it for us so that we may hear it and observe it?”
No, the word is very near to you; it is in your mouth and in your heart for you to observe.
See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity.
If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God that I am commanding you today, by loving the Lord your God, walking in his ways, and observing his commandments, decrees, and ordinances, then you shall live and become numerous, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.
But if your heart turns away and you do not hear, but are led astray to bow down to other gods and serve them, I declare to you today that you shall perish; you shall not live long in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and holding fast to him; for that means life to you and length of days, so that you may live in the land that the Lord swore to give to your ancestors, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
Pray for the shalom of Jerusalem! Now more than ever!
May the next president be brought to his knees when the true road map is revealed!
I just read” The LORD sits enthroned” and just wanted to let you know that I am feeling the same way about this. The other day I said .”I wish someone would wake me up from this night mare i’m having , Our country with the leadership of a God fearing man, destroyed an evil man named Saddam Hussein and toppled his statue and now right here in the good ole USA we have a man we barely know running for our president named Barack Hussein Obama! How can this be happening?????????
