3 seconds, 7 simple words, eternal consequences

Posted on Friday 3 October 2008

The critical question lurked like a rattler in the long grass of foreign policy issues, after the debaters survived an interrogation into the Wall Street meltdown and were just beginning to lose their nervousness.

Then it struck. And Sarah Palin fell…

I just returned from nearly three weeks in the south-eastern United States. Everywhere I went I expressed the conviction that Senator John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin signified nothing less than that the God of Israel is still extending grace, mercy and favor to America.

Back here in Jerusalem I awoke at 3.30 this morning to watch and pray through the debate as it happened. I marveled at the way Mrs. Palin engaged Mr. Biden – with poise, confidence; piercing focus as she prepared her rebuttals, smiling eyes as she launched them.

Everyone “knew” how relatively inexperienced the Alaskan governor was in foreign policy issues. So it took pundits by surprise to see and hear how quickly and thoroughly she had learned. Fox News Channel’s popular Fox and Friends presenters reported that in all the history of that show never had there been such a flood of email responses from viewers asked who they thought had won the debate. Tens of thousands mailed in, 87 percent of them giving the gold medal to Palin.

In so many ways her performance was an answer to untold numbers of prayers that were going up on her behalf. And then:

Moderator: Governor, you mentioned Israel and your support for Israel.

Sarah Palin: Yes.

Moderator: What has this administration done right or wrong — this is the great, lingering, unresolved issue, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict — what have they done? And is a two-state solution the solution?

Palin: A two-state solution is the solution.

Seven simple words. A little more than 50 minutes into the 90 minute debate, they took barely three seconds to say. How easy it would have been to miss them in the midst of all the hype and focus that surrounded this event. How tempting to dismiss them as really not all that significant in the “greater scheme of things.”

But unless they are repented from, the consequences of following through on this belief will fundamentally and detrimentally affect the national history of the United States.

History will show that unless this “solution” is recognized as nothing less than a total betrayal of Israel and turned from, the curtain will fall on America as a DIRECT result of its pursuing this policy.

Let me say it again. America’s future as a great and God-blessed nation hinges NOT primarily on the numerous other important issues that were addressed by Palin and her Democratic opponent Joe Biden in their debate in St Louis, MO.

It rests, first and foremost, on this point.

It doesn’t get more serious than this: The two-state solution is the division of God’s land. It is the bullying theft of that land, which God gave to Israel, from a small nation that looks to mighty America (whether or not they should) to support their claim to, and possession of, this land.

It’s immoral: Chief “peace process” sponsor America pressing on another, historically endangered, nation to gamble with its existence in order to benefit the USA and the rest of the world.

And it’s cowardly: Don’t tell me a two state solution is the solution and there is no other way to go. There is another way – the right way, the only way, and that is a 23-to-1 state solution.

There are 23 Arab states that already exist, and just one Jewish state; the Arabs have 940 times more land than the Jews would have even if they had all of their tiny territory. The Palestinian Arabs have never had a nation in this land. The Jews have always had this land in their hearts.

The land-for-peace-process is wrong in God’s Book. The nations that support it are on a collision course with Him.

The LORD has vowed to judge the nations that divide up this land (Joel 3:2). He has a day of vengeance on the nations for the controversy of Zion. (Isaiah 34:8) He will trample these nations in the winepress of His wrath (Isaiah 63:3-4).

“A two state solution is the solution.”

Seven simple words. And yet on them, more than on any another, everything depends.

My disillusionment was shared by others. Within minutes I had received two emails:

#1 “[It] doesn’t matter anymore who’ll be president. Palin uttered the oh-so-stupid words “the two-state solution, is the right solution”. Talking of the bridge to nowhere…! Man, what a disappointment. Well, I guess He has unwaveringly set the plan into motion. May God help us now.”

#2 “I must say my heart sank when she said she was in agreement with Bush regarding a two state solution.  I am praying that God will surely reveal the truth to her.  If she continues this policy we are no better off and the ax will surely fall.”

In response I wrote:

“I was watching with you live, and felt sick from the moment she said those words. For the last few hours I have been wrestling intensely with the Lord on how to best respond. At least one other person wrote me immediately after the debate and expressed what you did. In my spirit, though, I hear God saying, ‘Don’t write off what I have not written off.’ And His gentle reminder – ‘I did not write you off with your first wrong move, or with your thousandth.’ As long as it is still daylight we are to work - and I - and many others, will be working on Palin.”

We may be at night’s door, but while there is light we have to fight! And we will.

My heart sank as well when I heard her speak those words. But I heard His still small voice saying to me, “Don’t worry, I’m in control.”

God will have the last word. Have mercy on us, Lord!!

    You nailed it Stan.

As much as I want McCain/Palin to win…we cannot continue to insist on dividing Israel and Jerusalem.

I too believe this the most important issue of this election. We cannot expect God to continue blessing this country while we ignore God’s warnings. (Gen. 12:3)

Your comments are right on., Stan. My heart sank, also, when Sarah Palin uttered those words. I have already e-mailed her. You can do that on the state of Alaska website. Please, everybody, bombard Governor Palin — give chapter and verse. This is dreadful!!

Man’s plan has never prevailed against the will of GOD. Despite the fall of Lucifer, Adam & Eve, Abraham & Sarah, David, Jonah, Moses, Solomon and on and on the biblical rhetoric can go, God’s plan has always prevailed; IT is sovereign, because the ONE who created it is sovereign and it does not depend on man/woman. HE is nor respector of persons, because AMAZING GRACE does not partner with fear. I’ve heard some very popular evangelists preach a fear-based message, cloaking it in a message that would seemingly align with Godly theology. The problem is, that same message teaches us we can somehow go beyond His grace and mercy or control the oucome of what God will and will not do according to our actions. This same form of anti-theology creates the illusion that a perfect “God” race existence is attainable and all else should be exterminated -tyrrany. Tyranny is not a theology built on truth: that God saved us. “For if we could be saved by keeping the law, there was no need for Christ to die.” God is the “Maker and Finisher of our faith.” No, that slippery-slope teaches us there is a boundary through which God’s grace and plan cannot or by man’s actions, will not prevail. Arminianist? Calvinist? That is the question.

    Hi
Are you all surprised by her answer?
I mean come on; the big surprise would have been if she had said, a two-state solution is wrong. I was surprised from the start that so many here seemed to put so much hope in here. George Bush is also a friend to Israel, the best man we have had in the White House according to Arik.
Dividing Israel is the name of the game

I too have been praying both before and during the speech and I thought she did great- except- for that remark. All I could do was groan. I do believe this women is reachable however. (Not a protected member of Scull and Crossbones).
Kathy, thank you for your comment. I too will write her there.

Please, Stan, we need prayer. Could we call for a 2 day fasting and prayer on Nov. 3 & 4 ? Please ask your friends there in Israel to do this, and also, all the rest of you out there reading this, please ask your church to globally fast and pray on these two days. God still works miracles, and we need one NOW to win this election, and change the mind of our prospective VP on this eternally important issue.

    Thank you everyone,

Stan, I too heard the words after watching the recorded debate. My spirit also shivered. We will continue to pray and to lift up our nation, our weary president and John McCain and Sara Palin for Gods continued grace and mercy on our land. God Bless. Take care my friend.

It does not surprise me. It just deomnstrates the tendency for people to say one thing and do the other. Bush is a perfect example. Many will claim that they knew Him, but he will say, I never knew you. So many claim to know Christ, but do not know the Word. The only peace is knowing that God is in ultimate control.

Stan, I spent the first 30 mins of the debate in our basement in prayer. When I finally joined my husband in watching the debate I knew the Lord was in control. As soon as I heard her words concerning Israel my heart sank also, but immediately the Lord gave me a peace and seemed to say “she doesn’t believe that and I am in control”. I believe it would be the enemy’s way to use that to stop the intense prayer that we must keep praying for the election. Please, I beg everyone don’t get off your knees because of 7 words that the enemy would love to use against God’s people that know the significance of our stand with Israel. Blessings….

Stan, it is sad when we know that the penalty for dividing Jerusalem is the harbinger of judgment from God onto the offending participants. That is us and I have been doing everything I can to make the corrections. Every time I am in a meeting or just visiting with friends and the topic comes up, I bring them all back to what the scriptures, the Holy Words of God, say. There are so many churched people who do not know anything about this and still believe that God turned his back on Israel and replaced it with the church. It is wicked and it is a lie from the pits of hell.

But sending an email to Sarah and John just might be the moment that Ester had with the King. If we don’t, what happened with Ike and with Wall Street is just a tip of the Iceberg. I have no doubts and I have seen the results everytime the USA goes against our assigned duty for Israel. We have been blessed by God as a nation but it has only been because we were to become the safe haven for the scattered people of God.

Keep praying and believing because that is the way, and the most powerful way, that we have of getting changes made. Don’t give up and don’t get discouraged. Things are changing and it will not come about because of a political party getting elected into the Highest Office in the land either.

Exactomundo - as a friend loves to say !

Sadly, the Just Judgment of a JUST and LOVING GOD Continues against my country.

The idiotic responses of a thoroughly corrupt government to their asinine and insane counterparts in the secular and religious realms flow through with their satanic and most ‘l;ogical’ ploy to expose Israel -”MY People” to those who wish our annhilation.

Their Judgment is Just and UN- Stoppable.’ They hope to further their population control and manipulation via ‘capitalism’ and economic necessity and I am sorry to say that the McCain-Palin ticket is the better of the two dismal choices for Americans - even while they proclaim their undying ‘Support for Israel’ !!

Now, may the cowardly traitor Olmert - and others like him, regardless of location and position - be visited by Elijah’s spirit prompted BY THE HOLY ONE of Israel WHO ALONE Has Atoned for our sins,(Acts 20:28) once and for Al TIME.

Stan, I heard it too…..Cold Chills ran all over me….I began to shake…..my husband said: “What is wrong with you?” …..I said: “Didn’t you just hear what she said?”

He said: “Well I guess so..” I said: “She said she was for a 2 State Solution for Israel and the Palestinians.!” He said: “Well, I guess I missed that.”

For a minute I could not believe that he was sitting there and did not pick it up…and then I thought: “How many others sitting, watch the Debate did not pick it up?”

Sarah Palin is Assembly of God….if She does not know and understand about Israel……I just can’t believe it….

I have been trying to think of a way we can actually get the Message to her…my only hope is that we send it to her Governor’s Office in Alaska in hopes that her Secretary or the LT. Governor will tell her.

Like you all, my heart wrenched when she said those words and that she supported what Condi Rice has been working toward. I don’t think she realizes what she was saying. If her heart is tender towards God - there is hope she will come to understand the truth about this issue.

I know God’s words must come to pass but I pray He remember His mercies and if possible spare America from betraying Israel and God.

God will ultimately deliver Israel Himself and I pray that He be the One that more and more of the people remember and turn to with all their hearts.

Let us who are in Messiah Jesus (Yeshua) remember who we are in Him and that we are citizens and ambassadors of God’s heavenly Kingdom and are not to be too attatched to this world.

I was heart sick to hear her say those 7 words to America. I was hoping she was a modern day Esther, brought by God to save Israel for a time such as this. I was hoping she would use the Irag war as a way to explain why Israel needs to continually be “The State of Israel”, as our President at the time, Harry Truman in 1948 signed the agreement for it to be!. If she would have just said, How would you like to win a battle fair and square and regain land that has rightfully been yours for 3000 years and then have the land taken back from you, claiming you are occuping their territory!!!? God fought that war for israel and he will fight again for her!. The battle is not ours, it is Gods, we who are truly born again by Gods Spirit are praying and seeking His face as to what He would have us to do!
The center of the bible, Psalm 118: 6, gives us the answer , “It is better to trust in the Lord then to put confidence in man”. verse 26 says “Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord” this is our hope, we must keep His word and seek the Lord with our whole heart. Psalm 119:2, and look for His appearing!!!

i wasn’t even going to vote in this election because i felt neither candidate was good for this country, but sara palin changed my mind because i really thought she would support israel and that was enough for me. i did also notice this comment she made in the debate and i am left wondering. i do think though that she would be more on israels side than anyone else though and she’s probably only going with the 2 state solution because she’s the vp not the p candidate and mccain is for it. maybe sara on her own would not go this way. i’m of the persuation though that obama is even more of a problem for israel than mccain/palin and maybe for the sake of trouble we should vote for the lesser of 2 evils to prolong the impending doom that israel will one day face the world alone without even the u.s. and G-d Himself will save her!

I am surprized that Amercans can only hear what that they want to hear. Yes, I heard her (Mrs Palin) say “a 2-state solution is the solution (for now). She is the runnining -mate on Mr. McCane’s ticket. But I heard her say something else too: “and we will build an embassy in Jerursalem” When have you ever heard a VP running mate say that???

The first words were Mr. McCanes words, the second were here own. She could not contradict her boss—but she added some very important words of her own. How is that for courage? Pray for her. And let God’s will be done.

Yes Stan, I heard her say it too. It did not get by me either. And Sarah and her presence in this election at this point in time and the fact that she is one of G-d’s chosen is not diminished by her statement.
She spoke the words but that does not change the fact that she is a Bible-toting, Christian who is also a Zionist. What would you have her do? In the scheme of the Master’s plan, this is nothing.
Condemn her not. Continue to pray for America. G-d is in control.
And thanks Kathy, I will email her there.
    Pray without ceasing.

Yes it is sad that this is America’s view from both camps. They are certainly in danger of Gods judgment. As a Brit I can testify to what happens to nations which divide Gods land in fulfillment of His glorious word. Great Britain stopped being Great when we failed to deliver the Balfour deceleration, first was the moral decline then we turned our back on the apple of His eye. The sad thing is that America is in the same boat now they have turned their back to God and even though the money quite clearly states in God we trust it is quite clear that, the God in whom America now trust is Mammon. Anyway back to Israel may God has hardened Americas heart like that of Pharaohs that Israel will once again look to God to be their mighty tower their shelter and their refuge and then see the Lord Jesus Christ as their True Messiah and their savior.

I, too, was stunned and deeply saddened last Thursday night at Palin’s words “that the two-state solution is the solution.” God will surely judge America unless we repent of seeking to divide His land and have leaders who truly support Israel as God intended. Thank you for your love and concern for the USA and for coming to share your heart in person with us recently. May God richly bless you and yours.

Tim and I were stunned to Stan. We were watching the debate as well and we were blown away. I do not believe it is hopeless, I believe there is hope for Gov. Palin and we must pray.
Now is a time for us to storm the heavens with our prayers. God please reach the hearts of John McCain and Sarah Palin, and spare America from another president who turns their back on Israel. God open their eyes so they can see that we must never again pressure Israel to give an inch of her land away.
Blessings to you and your family Stan.
    And blessings to Israel.
    We love you all.

YES! We must give Sarah Palin a chance…..You are right, she was quoting her “boss” to a degree, and I heard her say: ” we will build an Embassy in Jerusalem.” I personally felt this was a Light of Revelation.

We all must pray for McCain and Palin with great fervency. And let’s remember to pray daily for the Secret Service who lay their lives on the line every day and night for those they are assigned to.

First things first—let’s get McCain-Palin elected….Then we can come into Corporate Agreement with prayer and fasting that God will move on them to stop all attempts to push a Two-State solution.

Continue to pray for this election and please pray for America this Wednesday, October 8th. Get the word out to everyone! The Lord is calling us to galvanize America into corporate Prayer. Read the first Five Psalms, but especially Psalm Five and the last two verses. Now, more than ever, we need to be in intercession for this country. Wednesday marks the end of the feasts of Ramadan. Rise up, Christians, it’s time we take the Kingdom by storm!! Matthew 11:12

    Psalm 5: 11,12
But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
Thank you, Stan, for your faithfulness in Watching for the Lord!!

    Mene, mene, Tekel upharsin.

Just before this years Yom Kippur, let us consider that these are the times spoken of by our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ, that He is looking at the fig tree that has bloomed, and is now desolate of her fruit. What did Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ, do when there was no longer any fruit on the fig tree? The tree was withered at the utterance of His words and died. It is then cast into the fire.

Sarah Palin uttered those words, not necessarily because she had a full conviction of the consequences of the lie that they contained, but more than likely she was coached on it, like so many other foreign policy issues she needs to be educated on to be number 2 in American politics. It is after all, current American administrative policy, and being successors to the Republican agenda nominally calls for this mistaken attitude toward the Middle East. It will take McCain, not Palin, to reverse this judgment call and get America on the straight and narrow. But, do not hold any breath on it.

America’s current situation in the Middle East is now untenable at best for the previously mentioned misdirection, and it is not likely to be reversed soon. In spite of the best Biblical efforts to identify America in the last days is neither in the prophets, Gospels, or the Revelation; there is no specific call out of the American presence except in the generalized expressions of the nations being called by Almighty God to perform their part in the last days. Hence, we find that an apostate condition that is swelling in America is more than likely the circumstance.

When Abraham contended for the lives of righteous people that may be found left in Sodom in the time just before it and Gomorrah where destroyed, Almighty God was content to allow Abraham to negotiate to ten; alas not even ten were found to prevent the destruction. Lot and his family were removed instead. Such is probably the situation for America, that the few remaining righteous ones are to be removed prior to judgment on a global scale.

The whole world, if it were possible to get through with the Gospels, might have been spared in the same way, yet the Holy Bible say it is not to be so. When the last king of Babylon made a mockery of the holy items from the Temple, his defiance in defiling them, in essence defying the holiness of Almighty God, called down the weighing and findings of judgment against Babylon. It is the same today for the nations, like Russia, Syria, Lebanon, Iran/Iraq, Libya, Turkey, and all the others who have defied the LORD. Judgment fell, and a refined nation of Israel was brought through the refining fire to assume her place as the LORD’s people in the LORD’s land.

It comes down to the individual conviction of each person calling upon the Name of Almighty God, calling upon the Name of Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ, for forgiveness of sins and a cleansing of the heart for Him to enter in. The America citizen must convert citizenship to an Heavenly one in order to be prepared for the time shortly to fall upon America, for there is no national presence that will replace Israel as Almighty God’s throne. He is returning soon: be ready by being able to call upon His Name while one can.

I agree with the majority of posters here, but I do not agree with one who expresses the notion that we must ‘take the Kingdom by storm’. The Bible does not indicate that Christians will bring the kingdom down to earth, but a Holy and righteous God will return to SET UP His kingdom, and He will rule and reign. We will never be able to legislate righteousness, but true regenerated believers - not a state mandated form of Christianity - are the only true faith, the one true Church. Bible prophecy indicates we are in for a time such as the world has never seen before, one in which the sin of mankind will become ripe for judgment, to the praise and glory of God, for He is just and true. Jesus Himself says that His kingdom is not of this world, if it were, His disciples would fight. We must be a light and witness, salt and savor till it is too dark to work; but His Word will be fulfilled in His perfect timing. There have always been those who have attempted to take cities for Christ but in 20 years of that movement, not one city, town, or state has become Christian as a result. Redeem the time, the days are evil.

    Dear Sir,
I think Gov. Palin just like Pres. Bush says that two states is the “answer” knowing full well that the Philistienes will never cease from terrorism. This way they can say that a second state will only depend on laying down of terror arms, therefore, it is as good as saying NO to a two state solution. This is cunning political speak. God bless you.

I also agree with your statement about the cutting of Israel into two. There is no such land as palatine. However you should also be concerned with how many Jews don’t except Jesus as truly being LORD and GOD.Because the Bible says that no man gets to the FATHER but through the SON.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
