Republican Vice-Presidential Nominee
On the campaign trail with Senator John McCain

Dear Governor Palin
Shalom from Jerusalem, and heartfelt congratulations on your nomination as vice-presidential candidate for the Republican Party. You already know how much this development has ignited what was virtually extinguished hope in the hearts of millions of people, and not only in America. For that, alone, I thank God.
I imagine a “The Matrix”-style training program providing instant knowledge would be useful to you about now. You’ve been called “a quick study” and, God bless you, you will need to be. Among the myriad issues you will be having crammed into your brain will be the special and enduring relationship between the United States and Israel - your country’s most faithful ally in the Middle East, in fact probably in the world.
Specifically, you will probably be given a crash course in the intractable Arab-Israeli conflict and America’s efforts to end it by overseeing the creation of a Palestinian state.
On this issue the United States has a virtually set-in-stone policy which American leaders over the last three decades have insisted on pursuing despite the fact it has been repeatedly discredited as a road leading nowhere.
Initiated by President Jimmy Carter in 1978, the policy was re-invigorated by President George H.W. Bush and Secretary of State James Baker, whose team coined the designation: “land for peace.” It was accelerated by President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, and translated under President George W Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice first into the “Road Map” and then into the “Two-State-Solution” that sees “Israel and Palestine living side by side in security and peace.”
But stripped of the diplomatic doublespeak so effectively employed by the State Department, this peace process amounts to nothing less than the theft of the Biblical and historical homeland of the Jewish people - in fact the very cradle of their nationhood - out of which the world wants to carve a new Arab state called Palestine.
Madam Governor, in light of prophetic scripture which foretells the Jews’ restoration to this very land, and which I understand you too believe this “peace process” has set your nation on a collision course with the Word of God.
I do not wish to level blanket-accusations at the men I hope you will soon be able to call your predecessors. But even if some of them have pursued this policy with the very best of peace-making intentions, the net effect has been to weaken Israel and leave her increasingly vulnerable in a neighborhood where hundreds of millions of people believe they are destined by Allah to destroy the Jews.
For the past two decades I have watched this process erode Israel’s security, divide the nation, and fuel the hatred of the Arab states for Israel.
Sixty years ago, the long-cherished and never forgotten Jewish homeland was reborn as the State of Israel in what hundreds of millions of Christians applauded as a miracle and a great victory for a nation whose very existence after two millennia in persecution-saturated exile defies all explanation except a biblical one.
Today, after six decades of fighting off the wolves in war after war and in a 24-7 battle against terrorism, Israel stands virtually abandoned on the world stage.
From the floor of the on looking international community, Israel is scorned, detested and hated by great swathes of humanity driven on by a God-loathing press. Virtually every national leader on the planet is in sync with the plan to placate the Islamic aggressors while forcing the Jews to pay an unprecedented, unfair and unjust price in order to try and ensure world peace and a stable oil market.
That the United States has been a blessing to Israel in many wonderful ways is an undeniable fact of contemporary history for which I thank God.
Among the great things done for this nation:
* The United States, paying with the lives of 322,000 American soldiers, played a major role in defeating Hitler and bringing the Holocaust to an end, saving the remnant of Europe’s Jews.
* President Truman (a maverick too?) defied his own State Department and moved swiftly to recognize the newly-reborn State of Israel in 1948.
* During the decades-long Cold War, US leaders stood against the Moscow-supported Arab efforts to wipe Israel off the map.
* For the last eight years, the US has been going toe-to-toe with Israel’s sworn Islamic foes, beating them back and, in the process, again paying the price in American blood.
* I could add to this list of blessings the innumerable acts of public cooperation between the United States and Israel, the multiple times the US has vetoed United Nations Security Council efforts to demonize, delegitimize and weaken the State of Israel, and the, I’m sure, many, many untold ways in which American administrations have secretly worked in alliance with Israel’s.
And yet tragically, almost incomprehensibly, all of this great good has been nearly negated by the massive pushing ahead with the land-for-peace process.
Since June 2002, when Mr. Bush became the first US president to support the creation of Palestine, the United States has been increasingly moving into that global orbit that is so hostile to the Jewish state. And it cannot be otherwise. As recent history has demonstrated time and again, to support the creation of Palestine in Judea and Samaria is to gamble with the security and very existence of Israel.
Dear Mrs. Palin - for reasons you may well not yet fully fathom, God has seen fit to place upon your shoulders a burden that would break many men.
When I heard you speak so beautifully and powerfully during the Republican National Convention, I had no doubt that - as with Esther in the palace of the king, the Lord has brought you into this world, watched over you, and prepared you to come to the second-highest office in your land, for such a time as this. And I have no doubt, if you look to Him for guidance and skill - that He will use you mightily for His glory, and through you bring your great and God-founded nation back into line with the destiny He has always had for her.
I have intensely prayed, and pledge to continue in prayer, for the protection of you and your family against the hoards of hell that we have already seen unleashed in your direction since Senator McCain made his choice. May God give His angels untiring charge over you in the momentous days, months and years ahead.
Truly, after years of this entrenched US mindset for dealing with the Arab-Israeli conflict, a maverick, or better yet, a “team of mavericks” in the White House could really turn the Middle East upside down and introduce a whole new approach to bringing peace to this volatile part of the world.
As you said in Lebanon, Ohio yesterday, even as I was writing this in Jerusalem, there is a time for politics and there is a time for leadership. When it comes to the relationship between the United States and Israel - we truly need courageous and visionary leaders, real statesmen and women, at the helm.
The United States should not be an “honest broker” between the Jews and those pledged to destroy them. Your country should be boldly and unequivocally Israel’s unapologetic ally. To take such a stand would pit America against the world, but they already hate you and your values. A new BBC survey whose findings were released yesterday showed that every one of 22 nations polled want to see Barack Obama and Joe Biden in the White House rather than John McCain and you. Don’t rise to that bait. Don’t be deflected. You will never win the world’s approval and blessing until you turn your back on God and lose His.
Far more importantly, to embrace and stand with Israel would bring you into line with the will and purpose of God, which is to restore Israel to its place as head of the nations, and to bless all those who stand with Him in this.
By the way, the Arab states need America FAR MORE than America needs the Arab states and your plans to wean America off dependency on foreign oil is definitely a fantastic step in the right direction. It’s way past time to call the Arab bluff and, if they persist, to let them know that their cause is untenable and will no longer be championed by a God-fearing United States of America.
Concerning Israel, the bottom line for America, and for all the Gentile nations of the world, is recorded in Genesis 12:3. And as God warns through His prophet Isaiah: “The nation and kingdom which will not serve you [Israel] shall perish, And those nations shall be utterly ruined.” (Isaiah 60:12)
This is not, as God Himself says, because Israel deserves this unique treatment, but because God calls this Land and the People His own. If we reject His claim, we reject Him.
In this crucial area, and in the many others you are gearing up to face, may the Lord lead and enable you. And may He take you all the way to Washington DC, into the office of Vice President, and to the end of the destiny He has determined for you from before the foundation of the world. For His glory, and for the sake of His Name.

Brother. You are putting your hope in a false prophet. Sarah Palin speaks like a snake oil salesman. Do not put your hope in her. Pray for her yes, but do not think she is any form of maverick. Her history tells us she is just more of a long line of the same. Everything she has done in her past as a politician is just the same of the same. Lies, deception, smooth talking and empty promises. That is what you will get from her. Sorry, but that’s her history. I wish it was different, but it isn’t.
I have read many pieced in your blog. And there are many things we do not agree on. Many, many things. But this promise I make to you. I will stand next to you on that wall when you need it. I will fight on your side until there is nothing left of us. Because where we disagree pales when it comes to the one thing we agree on. Just call.
Stan, well said. The U.S. has always been blessed in the past for standing firm and supporting Israel. I love Israel and I will pray that McCain and Sarah will be firm in carrying out their righteous duties of the Lord. It is exciting to have an opportunity for the U.S. to return to their loyalty with Israel and support them. We don’t want to miss this chance.
Stan, G-d will not waste one circumstance, not one incident, not one occurrence of a life in His service. We have seen the rise of hope to push back the evil of this election. I have just received an email from the Jerusalem Prayer Team that says they have information that right now for the next 30 days Iran is working feverishly with terrorists organizations in an “Attack from Hell” against our American troops in Iraq, in Iran’s attempt to stop John McCain from being elected President.
The word must be sent out….A Call to Fasting and Prayer Must go forth now.
This fact alone tells us how much the enemies of America FEAR John McCain. They know if McCain is elected President, he will not be a “wimp.”

Sarah’s acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention was electrifying for many of us. Our hopes soared as we listened to her courageous speech. Indeed, Sarah Palin is a modern-day Deborah who will make wise decisions affecting not just the United States, but Israel as well. Let us commit to lift her up in prayer along with John McCain for strength, boldness, divine protection and His peace which passes all understanding.

Brother I fully believe I understand that you seek to encourage and strengthen the heart and mind of the Honorable Governor Palin. For this as well as for your prayers for her, thanks much and bravo!
But, please be advised, as you well know we are living in THE END TIMES. And Abba’s word written many centuries ago is MORE up-to-date than the latest breaking news. My point is ALL nations of the earth will, have, and MUST turn their backs on our beloved ISRAEL so that she will turn to Christ Jesus, her Messiah. This includes dear ole Uncle Sam.
I too am grieved over the disdainful treatment of Israel from the international community. Nevertheless, Israel’s and our (Christians) confidence must be in and displayed toward YHWH, the rock of our salvation.
In this there can be NO inkling of compromise or substitute!!!
(Because to do so yields such things as “land-for-peace” and the expulsion of Jews (our brethren) from their rightful homesteads.)

I have to agree with angry African. Were many of us fooled by Bush? Yes. McCain/Palin are better than Obama in numerous ways, but that they will do better than Bush by scrapping the Roadmap, I doubt it.
Whether there is a McCain-Palin or Obama-Biden electoral win, the Unted States of America is in the crosshairs of destiny, to assume a position of last defense before the arrival of the King, or to lose by default for having failed to be obedient to the WORD of the LORD.
The named conspirators in Ezekiel have all answered the Scriptural roll call for execution of His plan to rectify the Middle East and to bring the world to the place of judgment. Those of the faithful to Yeshua HaMashiach are on notice that the WORD of the LORD has just about finished with the preparations in the human realm, the eternal realm already being in place.
In the vein that as much as we should hope for the best that Almighty God can offer, we know that if the McCain - Palin Ticket wins, there will be at least a nominal acknowledgment of a duty owed to the LORD to do the right thing.
What can be expected from the Obama - Biden camp? Even acknowledging that Barack Obama is a confessed Christian according to his testimony, it can be expected that the people who are voting for him from their leftists ranks could not care less for his profession of faith, only in their prideful pursuit of rebellion against Yeshua HaMashiach. One can see where that will leave Israel when the rest of the world follows Islam into the breach to hopelessly attempt to defy Israel’s Holy One. It will start shortly as Islam provokes (it is likely to start in the north) Israel to give the Islamist’s what they want in calling for a world to revokes Israel’s right to exist.
What they do not want to know, though, IS going to kill them. There is the WORD of the LORD on it.
Brother Stan, excellent insite on the situation in America regarding Israel and our politicial situation. I was watching one of the cable programs here the other evening and they were speaking of Mrs. Palin like she was a radical of some sort because she had the nerve to mention God! We run from the One who can save us. With God we can do anything; without Him we are doomed to the ash bin of history. Israel will survive; we can be assured of this. His Land, His People, His will cannot be overturned. He will back nations into a corner to see just what decision they will make; not unlike His dealings with individuals. My hope, prayer and desire is that once again, He moves as only He can and raises up men and women to humble themselves and seek His face. Perhaps He will relent in His judgment? We should know shortly.

Well said, very well said! I never thought of it this way until you painted the picture for me, but we as a nation are at the crossroads in our election decision. The McCain-Palin ticket brings the style of leadership we need and miss in our country. If we elect the wrong way, I totally agree with you in that we face the repercussions of that decision. This poor woman (Palin) who is being attacked by the media in its’ journalistic practice is just unfair and downright ugly. Good for her in standng tall, staying poised, and remaining confident in her convictions to assist John McCain in leading our nation as it should be lead. She is even more confident and stronger than the other VP candidate. In her interview with secular progressive liberal Charlie Gibson , Palin quoted Abe Lincoln saying that the question is not whether God is on our side but rather whether we are on God’s side. I believe Sarah Palin is on God’s side. Oh that all Israel and the USA would turn back to their God and get on His side.

I think all of us that saw Sara the first time felt a spirtual bond . then we find out that she is a beautiful spiritfilled Christian. I saw a star of David around her neck I am sure at one time. What a shame it is to see the continued politicizing (and cheapening) of Christianity. Why are so many Christians misguided in believing their God would identify himself with ANY political party? Why do so many Christians who describe themselves as “people of faith” believe that the plans of their (supposedly) all-powerful God are dependent upon the results of a political election? You can’t walk through the “field of Christian thought” without continually tripping over the various “piles of paradoxes” that have proven again and again to me what a mindless collection of rubbish is Christianity!

I praise God for you and your message that inspires other Christians to STAND UP FOR JESUS. Mrs. Palin does indeed have quite the task ahead of her. I’ve watched in disgust at the vicious attacks against her. The radical left of America has nothing but contempt for this woman.
I too have and will continue to pray for her protection and strength. The days ahead are going to be brutal. But, she has the majority of Americans on her side. Unfortunately for America, the majority of our voice comes from liberal cesspools, otherwise known as the media.
As a christian, I see the need to have a White House devoted to a strong, supportive relationship with Israel. McCain worries me a bit, but Sarah Palin can hopefully use her influence in this matter.
God help America if we don’t stop pushing Israel out of their land in the name of “peace”.

I have learned through some tough times that when things are confusing it is not of God, so it is with Obama on my end.
After he turned his back on Islam where is the outcry in the islamic world and why are they so eager to see him in the white house?
This man is confusing and Sarah is not.
I pray, that she will be bold enough to call America to repentance like the Kings of Israel did. I wished George would have done that, but he bought into the lies of the false counselors and Islam.

She is like a breath of fresh air to us who had given up hope of recovering from this presidential election being turned over to one who seems to be an enemy of right. I personally feel hope renewed again. You are inspiring to our belief that Isreal always has those who will stand with her. One thing is for sure. I read your column religiously, and find it to be right on the money. I believe we are surely in the very end times, but as Christians, we are not to stick our head in the sand and proclaim “ALAS- its just a fulfillment of prophesy!” concerning the fate of Israel as nation after nation turn their back on that land. Let us get on our knees and call out to almighty God for leaders who will stand with Israel. I realize that at the very end, according to the Bible, all nations will turn against God’s chosen people, but I also know that he hears the cry of his people, when they call out to him in earnest, and is able to forestall this calamity for untold years. AMERICA!
wake up, and realize that we did not become great because of our own abilities but was given to us for a purpose. I pray that purpose is defence of that little sliver of land called Israel. That said- if we don’t repent as a nation from our ungodliness, we will be granted King Obama. This man does not have the best interest of Israel or the United States in his heart. Someday there will be an end to anything getting in to harm Israel. I pray and wait for that day.
G-d doesnt need the good old USA to accomplish anything. He can do it all on H-s own. We have the honor and the privilage to aid and assist Israel. We have the ability to be loved and honored by G-d. We can choose not to act properly towards them and watch someone else receive what could be ours.
