A consuming folly

We have ignition, we’re acquiring traction, and at this rate we’ll soon be off on the road towards an arrangement with Damascus that will see the government in Jerusalem relinquish the Golan Heights - the high ground that towers over all Israel’s northern population centers.

No sooner has Israel left those heights, wrote Israeli commentator Guy Bechor in Ynetnews Friday, than a million Syrians will immediately be moved into the “liberated” territory, which has been settled, farmed and beautified by the Jews during the 40 years under Israel’s control.

[I am not sure that when this nation was called to be "a light to the world" it meant that it was to settle and restore to life desolate lands (Judea, Samaria, the Gaza Strip and the Golan), establish farms and build hundreds of population centers upon them, only to pass them on to another people who claim them but have no historic right, nor any right under international law, to possess them - Ed.]

The presence of his people on the Golan, continued Bechor, will enable Syrian president Bashar Assad “to realize his dream with no interruptions – establishing a ‘resistance’ against Israel in the Golan Heights.”

As with southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, this land vacated by Israel would quickly become a terrorist base used to launch more attacks against Israel’s northern communities.

Former [and probably future] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday an Israeli withdrawal from the Golan Heights would see Iran itself fully positioned along the northern border.

“Giving of the Golan Heights will turn the Golan into Iran’s front lines which will threaten the whole state of Israel,” Netanyahu told members of his opposition Likud Party.
 
“If the words of Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem are correct, Mr. Olmert has committed to pull back from the Golan up to the shores of Lake Galilee, even before negotiations have begun. Indeed, this would mean unprecedented anarchy of politics and defense,” he added.

“This irresponsibility can be added to the failed conduct of the Second Lebanon War, the failure to prevent Hizb’allah’s new and heightened rearmament, the failure to prevent Kassam fire on southern Israel.”

Lebanon’s Hizb’allah, which has just successfully employed violence to position itself to soon assume control over that country, is an Iranian-sponsored and Syrian-supported terror group that already has tens of thousands of missiles deployed along its border with Israel.

Syria and Iran are fast allies, bound together by a number of agreements including a mutual defense pact which commits them to come to one another’s aid if either should be attacked.

“Once Assad’s regime is toppled, Bechor maintains, “the Golan Heights will turn into the radical spearhead against Israel, and not only from Syria: People will be coming from Iran, Afghanistan and elsewhere.

“Terrorism will be two-pronged – both from the Golan and from Lebanon. Life in the north will turn into an unbearable nightmare, yet the situation will be irreversible. The Golan will shift from being an empty region to being a home to one million zealous Syrians.”

In direct contradiction of such gloomy assessments and warnings, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Monday proclaimed that Israel faces “an historic agreement with Syria that may remove the northern threat.”

Israel’s yearning for peace, and willingness to pay enormous, unparalleled prices for that peace, is understandable and eminently deserving of praise. How much those who love this land and its people would pray and wish for them this peace.

But to continue pursuing peace down a road that has only led, and leads until today towards greater conflict and inevitable war cannot be excused, let alone commended.

This is not initiative, not statesmanship, not vision or wisdom.

It is, simply and dreadfully, folly.

    The people need to make a stand for the land that was deeded to them by their Creator, YHVH.
    They need to oust any Prime Minister that wishes to continue to make suicidal pacts with an enemy that wants them dead and desires to steal their land.

    As I watch the insanity (yes…especially within the government of Israel) in the world, I can only marvel at how God continues to set the stage for the fulfillment of His prophecies concerning the end times. The world is racing like a train without an Engineer toward a canyon without a bridge. When we read how Pharaoh kept saying “No!” to Moses, even in the face of the mounting ten plagues upon Egypt, We marvel at his stupidity. How can such a man act as he did in the face of such overwhelming proof of God’s judgment? That same insanity and stupidity infects our world right now…and is God’s plan. With my flesh I cry out in pain, but with my spirit I praise the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob…the God Who keeps His promises!

    I keep reading HIS Word, In Psalms 83 the scripture that was found and dug up in July,2006, lets us know Isiah 17 is going to happen any time, as when they say peace peace then comes sudden destruction. And G-d, HImself says, they will NEVER move my chosen off MY Holy Hill. I see Israel blowing up Damascus, then like Ezekiel says,,the nations tremble, and that is when Israel will take back all the land G-d gave Her. Last half of Ezekiel tells us they take down their walls, feel safe, become the wealthyest nation in the world and are accepted by the international comm. They do NOT feel like that now. After they feel safe, that is when G0g, Russia will bring All Persia against her. and will also be when Messiah comes and He destroys them all. I see Syria, Lebanon, Sadan, Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia who have boxed Israel in and been supplied by the US and others, but they will fail. It is later on that Russia brings all Persia to attack. Israel will stand forever..and G-d is shaking the world..Israel too will ALWAYS own the OLIVE TREE. the people are in need to know if Israel dies, the will die too. I say, Wake up world..Messiah is coming soon, and All Israel will be saved !

    What has happened to Israel and her government ??? Why are they trying so hard to help the Arab terrorists destroy them ? I understand their desire for Peace and none deserve it more than the Jewish people, but… Fool me once, shame on you…Fool me twice,shame on me ! Fool me thrice,……………..!     This is painful, listening to Israel again making concessions for that longed for, illusive peace. If I didn’t trust God implicitly, I would be depressed and totally discouraged for Israel’s sake. Only He knows the whys and hows and whens of all of this. I am still praying for the peace of Jerusalem. I am still trusting that, somehow, the leaders’ blundering folly will not lead to the Jewish peoples’ destruction and shrinking land to live on.
    “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed…” Psalms 2:1-2a. Prophecy being fulfilled right before our eyes. The second part of this Psalm is the answer…”Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou are my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheitance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.” I can’t wait for this part of prophecy to come true. Give the nations to Jesus Christ, oh my God.

    Let me see Stan if I understand this.
    Iran gets an advantage through Syria because of Israel’s relinquishing of the Golan Heights.
    Netanyahu……..as always speaks out against it.
    Knowing full well that this is the next step to allign U.S. in Israel, Iraq or the Israeli army or both to retaliate if the Golan is then used as such. ‘Especially when Netanyahu fills Olmert’s place by some catastrophe or ousting.’
    Netanyahu will be hero of Israel and an all out attack on Damascus will be justified to display Israel’s strength?????
    Doesn’t this seem like as good of a scenario as any?
    God is going to accomplish his goals perhaps through the means of many.
    The common use of the worldly tactics are still being thwarted and the rulers and Kings are being used to accomplish what God has declared.
    Why try to figure it out in the human.
    You know the days we are living in.
    The Noahide laws have been re-instated. The New Testament Bibles are being burned.

    I agree with Roger Johnson. He said that God is setting the stage for the fulfillment of His Promises.
    Thank God for the discernment and encouragement that the People of God are bringing to one another in these days….The opening of eyes and ears.

    Let the folly of Olmert and the politicians proceed. The Almighty is exposing the willingness of mankind to do everything possible to thwart His vision, His purpose, and His will for His Land. Like the President one day several years ago saying “you are either for us or against us”, how soon he fell from this position when the going got rough. To many bullies walked to the other side of the room after this statment, and the USA, as is Israel, starts backtracking on positions.

    The God of all creation knows the hearts of men. Oh, that men of the character and vision of Joshua and Caleb would arise in Israel. Yes, the land is vast, yes their are giants that inhabit it, but they are meat for us! Let us go in and possess the Land, for the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY is with us!

    One day, oh so very soon, after treaties are signed and the politicians sigh; when they are suddenly broken and all hell breaks loose throughout the Mideast, God will arise as in the Day of Battle from His throne and He, and He alone, will defeat those who rise up against Him. Let us continue to pray to that effect. The prayer of old is “O that Thou would rend the heavens and come down…” let our prayer be “O that we would rend the heavens and go UP!” Up in intercession and prayer for Israel. That Messiah would appear in the clouds and defeat His enemies.

    The article forgot to mention how Israel should respond to 98% of the world demanding her demise, via open, covert and silent weapons. The world says:

    ‘HOW DARE ISRAEL STILL OCCUPY12% OF THE LAND ORIGINALLY ALLOCATED HER IN THE BALFOUR’

    None want to admit it, but this entire war against Jews was initiated by Briton, who corrupted herself for 30 barrels of oil and formed Jordan - calling it a 2-state for peace. In the process, Briton also established all thre Regimes we see today - dishing out lands as personal & private property - on condition they sign oil contracts. Now you know who the real Judas is. Britistan will happen.

    Olmert is virtually signing Israel’s death warrant but the consequences of such blatant contravention of God’s Word will return upon his own head.
    God will remove him at just the right moment and establish Benjamin Netanyahu in his place - through whom He will reverse the national suicide policies of the Olmert Administration and wipe out Israel’s lying enemies of the Northern Alliance in the process.

    Stan you chose the right word to close this story with. The Websters dictionary defines folly as:
    1: lack of good sense or normal prudence and foresight
    2 a: criminally or tragically foolish actions or conduct b.obsolete : evil, wickedness
    3: a foolish act or idea
    4: an excessively costly or unprofitable undertaking
    I am glad that God has put you where you are for such a time as this. Reading your updates on Israel brings much enightment to my soul. It keeps me on my toes as to how to pray for the “Peace of Jerusalem”.

    I was under the impression that what Olmert is doing with the giving away of the Golan (Bashan) is illegal and does not have the backing of the Israeli government. The Dry Bones blog has a recent article on this, but I can’t remember where else I had read about it a few weeks back. Concerning Damascus, I wonder if it won’t be destroyed by an Iranian nuke heading for Israel that goes off course. Or perhaps a backfire- that what is intended for Israel returns upon their own heads. It breaks my heart to see what is happening in Israel and to her, but I am thankful that God has it under His control and going according to His plan. One part of me cries for the Jews and the other part of me is ready to jump out of my skin in anticipation of the Lord Jesus Christ’s return. Maranatha!

    Stan….I am about to share my heart here, perhaps more freely than I ought, and I would very much appreciate and value your response to the things I am about to say….

    I, too, agree with Roger Johnson. Although we are indeed seeing “insanity” unfolding in the world, and yes, especially within the government of Israel, and although with my flesh I too cry out in pain and am physically sickened by what I see happening – so often the sense of grief is so deep that I feel physically ill – yet my spirit cannot help but praise the Mighty God of Israel, whose word is also unfolding before our very eyes – just as Roger says. We truly are watching the stage being set for the fulfillment of His prophecies concerning the end times and so often I feel I am holding my breath in anticipation of what will happen next on God’s incredible timetable. My spirit cannot help but rejoice, because are not all these things signs of the nearness of His coming? AND HIS COMING IS WHAT I LONG FOR!

    Lately there is something I have been struggling with. I so long for the coming of the King! It is something I pray for so much! When we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we pray for His return. How? Because there can be no peace in Jerusalem unless and until the King returns and rules and reigns from Mt. Zion. All other “peace” will be false and short lived. BUT, when we pray for His coming, are we not also inadvertently praying for these things – these prophecies – to come to pass as well? The King cannot return unless and until all the prophecies leading up to His coming are fulfilled. Only then can He return. So when we pray for His coming – as we ought to be praying – should we be surprised or dismayed when we see these things taking place?

    And so I struggle. I am in a predicament. I long for His return. I pray for His return. I long for the peace of Jerusalem. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I long to see the day when all Israel will be saved! I pray for that day! How I love her! But in order for my prayers to be answered, these prophecies MUST come to pass - and they are NOT pleasant prophecies! Do I want to see these horrible things happening? NO! I DON’T! But I must not be surprised when I see these difficult times come into being. I must not be surprised at the great deception that controls PM Ehud Olmert. I must not be surprised at the great deception the controls Pres. Bush and Condoleezza Rice. I must not be surprised that the kings of the earth are coming together – are surrounding Israel and the city of the Great King – seeking to divide the Land. FOR THIS HAS ALL BEEN PROPHESIED! AND THIS MUST COME TO PASS, BEFORE THE KING CAN RETURN! So then, how do I pray? Do I continue praying that the Mighty God of Israel would hasten the return of the King, who alone can bring peace to Israel? Or do I pray that the Lord would stop the unfolding of prophecy because it is so very frightening?

    Am I making any sense here? Do you understand what I am saying and asking? This is something that has been troubling me for many weeks now. Does there come a time when, as we see prophecy unfolding, we can no longer pray prayers that will prevent it from being fulfilled? Does there come a time when our prayers need to change and line up with what we see God is bringing to pass?

    Please Stan, I so need your help here. I need to hear your response.

    Thank you for opening up like this. Doubtless other readers will be wrestling with similar questions. Now I don’t know how much I can actually help but I will try and explain how I understand this not at all easy issue.

    I find it helps me somewhat in my search for answers, or partial ones, if I look back to the Holocaust - surely one of the most difficult of all events to even try to comprehend. In fact, I was at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum here in Jerusalem this morning - my umpteenth visit - and no matter how often I go there, or how many Holocaust memorial Days I experience here - I still find what happened 65 years ago just as much beyond the limits of my ability to grasp as it has ever been.

    While far from being a satisfactory answer - it is a downright uncomfortable one in fact - it is clear with hindsight that if there had not been the Holocaust the world would never have agreed to give the Jews a home in their ancient land. For nearly 2000 years, Gentile nations had been almost completely without mercy for the homeless Jews - many in fact seeing the homelessness as well-deserved. But for the harrowing images as Hitler’s death camps were liberated, that dearth of compassion and care would almost certainly have been maintained.

    For the briefest of moments the world seemed to find its conscience - but it took more than six million Jewish deaths to prick them at all.

    Now imagine if you and I, Bible believers as we are today, had lived in the decades leading up to World War Two. And imagine that, as we studied biblical prophecy concerning the restoration of Israel (for example the Jacob’s Trouble passage in Jeremiah) we had foreseen that a terrible catastrophe would strike the Jewish people before their return to their homeland and the rebirth of their state.

    Because of our love for the Jews and our desire to be a part of bringing about their return to their land, we would have wanted to pray as ardently then for that restoration to take place. But imagine then that, as we prayed for the Jews to indeed be restored to their land, we had been struck with the horrific thought that by praying for that we would also perhaps have been praying for the tragedy to come out of which their homeland would be resurrected. Would we, should we then not have prayed for that restoration?

    Of course, we would not have prayed for those dark days, except perhaps to pray for them never to happen even though they were foretold by God’s prophets. But we would have prayed for the dawning of the bright morning that would come after that night. And we would have prayed (and hopefully done whatever we could) to shorten those terrible years and hasten Israel’s rebirth.

    This is one answer: That we pray for God’s glorious purposes for Israel to come about, and act to do what we are able to to work towards that realization; and that we pray for a shortening of these difficult days that are preceding Israel’s coming fully into all that God has in store for her.

    One other thing: I think we need to be extremely careful about how we interpret prophecy and what it is that we actually expect to take place. There is a very great deal of pop-prophecy that has swept millions of Christians up in expectation of things to come, some of which are not even biblical per se but rather man’s speculative interpretation of the Word of God. Whether it’s the “rapture,” the “mark of the beast,” the “antichrist,” the “day of the Lord,” the “great tribulation,” or whatever is circulating “out there” - we absolutely MUST differentiate between what is actually written and how it may have been spun or “put together” by the many prophecy “experts” hosting their shows and writing their books.

    My reading of the Bible leads me to understand that God has brought the Jewish people back to their land to do them good here, and not to do them harm. The time of their being cursed is over, the time to favor them has come. God has promised that when He brings them back He will keep them here as a shepherd keeps his sheep.

    I simply do not read what so many others apparently do - that another holocaust awaits the Jews in their homeland; that two-thirds of the Jews will yet be exterminated in a war. I can see how the buffs have intepreted this as a future scenario, but for me it does not match up to what is written.

    May I gently recommend that we stay away from books and films on “End Time Prophecy” and stick exclusively to THE Book.

    Let us never forget that the loss of hope brings depair. The biggest gift from the Son is the gift of hope, a promise. The world hopes in itself. It’s politics, science, knowledge. We know that not all the potters products will survive what is to come and we know that it is He alone that will chose. The Kingdom is in us and with us and nothing the world does can change that. We need to pray for His will do be done on earth as it is in heaven. Do you really believe that a poster on the wall of our hero could ever make any sense to the world. Beaten, bleeding, nailed to a cross. How must the prophets of G-d cried over the knowledge of what was to come for Jerusalem. Do we feel any less pain ? Knowing that not all those He loves return that love. Think the world today will have trouble recognizing our King. Unharmed by anyone, with nail holes plainly visible to all. All will know H-m
    I absolutely agree with Stan on this one. I can’t seem to find any evidence of another exile, dispersion.
    We have to work very hard to remember what the promise is that we all wait for. Is it the rebuilding of the Temple, or is it the return of God as our King ? Is it the promise of the land, or the promise of a return to our status prior to being sent from the garden. The promise of the earthy Temple, resoration of the land, these have a finite time frame. I believe the true promise holds more in store for us.
    Our joy is complete when our prayers align with H-s desires. Saving a world isn’t pretty work as our heros can well attest to.

    Yes the time to favor Israel has come and Israel is the only safe place for the Jew to be living in today! It is urgent for us to pray for the “Peace of Jeruaslem “,
    because peace can only come to Israel when their blinded eyes have been opened and they cry, “Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord”. That is what this prayer is all about!! Israel you have nothing to fear, read the words of your Eternal King David in Psalms 118:1-26 “O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever. Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever. Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever. I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?. The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.     Many thanks and blessings to you both , Jan and Stan. Jan, you have only said what many of us have felt when praying for Israel and Jerusalem. Stan’s counsel is wise especially where prophecy is concerned. Speculation is O.K., but to make a doctrine out of them, as some do, is where we need discernment and the knowledge of Scriptures. The Holy Spirit will not fail us when we desire to know truth. Again, thanks.

    It is not only folly.PM Olmert is under investigation and he is extremely weak. He tries improve his image and is open for any manipulation. Similarly like PM Sharon in 2005 when he made way for Gaza retreat. Those corruptive leaders are bad for Israel. I hope Olmert’s days in govermnemt are counted. But who will succed him? I don’t trust Netanyahu. He is open for compromises too. The best I can to do is pray for God’s intervention!

    To Jan Unger concerns-yes terrible things must happen before Yeshua returns to rule and reign and set up His Kingdom. It is a Kingdom of righteousness. I also share your fear of the things coming upon the earth; but these things, as you say, must be! While being fearful, I also have to realize what is happening on earth right now as we write and read. There are 42 million babies taken from the womb worldwide each year-3,700 per day just in the USA-1.37 million in 1996.
    There is a suicide every 40 seconds, 1 murder every 60 seconds, persons killed in armed conflict every 100 seconds. 1.6 million people died in premature violent death in the year 2000. In the recent past 15 million children have died of hunger.
    100 million souls starved to death in the decade of the 1990’s. Over 800,000,000 people are hungry or suffer from the effects of malnutrition. ( Statistics from WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION) and (CENTER FOR BIO-ETHICAL REFORM).

    Horror is already here on planet earth for these poor trapped souls. Terror is already here. In my spirit I want these things to end and the only way they will for all of these lost souls is for Yeshua Messiah to appear in the clouds and defeat His enemies once and for all. I do not fear His coming, my prayer is to be in Jerusalem and see His feet touch the holy mount! Our prosperity comes in His great, triumphant return!

    Thank you Stan and Jan! As I read this morning, I was struck to remember that it is this verse:

    (Zep 1:17) “I will bring distress upon men, And they shall walk like blind men, Because they have sinned against the L-RD; Their blood shall be poured out like dust, And their flesh like refuse.”

    which prompts the disciples to ask their question in John’s gospel:
    Joh 9:1-7 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. (2) And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” (3) Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of G-d should be revealed in him. (4) “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. (5) “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” (6) When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay. (7) And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing. (NKJV)

    Let us pray “that the works of G-d should be revealed”, that blind eyes will be opened when the blind ones start DOING . Had the man not acted as instructed (and there are other situations where it was the doing that brought the healing, because faith is the doing, “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Heb 11:1)

    Faith is a verb!! And James supports that statement when he says in Jas 2:18 ‘But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.’

    May we faith (say “fāthÉ™”) by reading THE Book in context to know what is to come.

    Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

    I sometimes muse on how the disciples must have felt when their LORD was arrested and tried and crucified. The Bible tells us they fled the scene, while one tried to defend Him with the sword. Even though He had prepared them for this coming event, when the reality appeared, they were terrified.
    Their human minds could not comprehend how good could come of this tragedy. I believe it is the same with the followers of our LORD today….we try to understand, we try to make it fit… and it is sometimes baffling for us. Prophecy is hidden until the events begin to take place, then we can see and try to understand. I am alarmed for all that is happening in Israel now, yet, somehow, I know that God’s plans are entirely just and merciful. May His will be done.

    Moses’ song in Deuteronomy is resounding now as the faithless and reckless secular political machinery in Israel keeps moving toward their own version of an Israel bereft of her land of heritage. The prophets sound the refrains of the promises, for blessings and judgments, and then eternal blessings.

    We know from the Hebrew Holy Scriptures that the Eternal Sovereign of Israel intends to honor His Promises to the faithful, and the judgments to the unfaithful. We understand this to mean that the remnant of the faithful will be the modern inheritors to the restored Kingdom, just as only those who believed in the promises to Moses were allowed to enter into Canaan and appropriate the land as commanded.

    Israel faces the toughest times ahead according to the Scriptures, and we have commandment from Yeshua HaMashiach to pray for Jerusalem, so as to trust in the WORD of the LORD concerning Israel. Pray to be obedient to Him in His love and by the power of His WORD, that He will show His faithfulness to all who believe and trust in His promises.

    Stan Do you think , at this late date, that any of the land that has been gained in the last 60 years will actually be given away ? I know that this is the intention of many, but is this just the final setup leading to the start of the Temple work ? It is pretty obvious to anyone that has read the book that something political will create the scenario. What are the people there thinking and saying about this if anything ? Not the politicians, but the people

    Dear fellow readers of Jerusalem Watchman, brothers and sisters in the Lord – thank you for your kind concern in the face of my confusion and questions which I have shared here. I must admit I have been feeling foolish over having shared these things so publicly and have also been concerned that sharing my confusion so openly, in turn, may have negatively affected some of you. For this I apologize.

    First let me assure you that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the division of the Land is wrong, that it is a contemptible and rebellious act against the God of Israel, and that His wrath will come upon all those nations/individuals who seek to divide the Land. Yet for some reason I have become confused about the details regarding the dividing of the Land and it has affected by ability to pray appropriately. I have come to realize that the confusion may be the result of a spiritual attack of the enemy, because obviously, this kind of confusion, in the face of what I know and believe, doesn’t make a lot of sense.

    Sometimes when sharing a comment, and trying to keep it brief, one does not manage to get across what’s really on one’s heart, and I feel this may be the case with some of my comments. I want to assure you that I have not lost my hope, nor do I fear Yeshua’s coming. My constant prayer and longing is for the hastening of His return, and this is with full recognition that I may be asked to endure hardship and persecution for the sake of the Kingdom as the end draws near. Also, I do NOT see another holocaust for the Jews before the end. I understand and believe that God has brought them back into the Land to bless them and not to harm them, and that it is together with them, as one olive tree - the true branches and the grafted in branches together - that we will witness the Lord’s return at the end of the age.

    I have appreciated all comments in response to my questions, so thank you! I believe one thing I need to do as I seek to leave this confusion behind, is to “trust in the WORD of the LORD concerning Israel”, as did Joshua and Caleb (thank you M. Tovey!), and to simply keep on believing and claiming the many promises of restoration which the Mighty God of Israel has made regarding His People and His Land. We cannot go wrong by praying the WORD for Israel and by reminding our God of His great love for her and His wonderful promises to her.

    Thank you most of all to Stan, for his endless patience with us, his readers! As I have already shared with him, there are times when he must feel towards us – certainly towards me in the face of my present confusion - like Yeshua did with his disciples, when after teaching and discipling them for so long a time, they still didn’t “get it”.

    May the Lord, the Mighty God of Israel, bless you all!

    From me personally, Jan, never doubted you in the least nor was I confused, Anything you are feeling at this time on this planet is shared believe me. Any statement made is an attempt to remind myself of my hope by seeing it stated. I need to be reconvinced daily cause humans have really short memories.
    I have never, in 40 years of faith, felt such inner turmoil as I have this year. Just too many things, too much information that looks so much like the prophecies I have been studying. I pray for a kind heart and a settled mind. Hey, we knew all this was coming didn’t we ?

    I’ve gotta agree - we do have really short memories and need a lot of reconvincing to keep us heading in the right direction! Aren’t we blessed to have a Father who has infinite patience with His children?

    And, Yes, we did know all this was coming. So we’d better keep looking up and watching and waiting for our KIng, and while we do, let’s keep praying for Israel, Beloved of our Father!

    Israel: 20,330 Square Kilometers = 12,624.93 Square Miles
    Amerijericho: 825,415.60 = 512,521 Square Miles

    If true Christians really cared enough to make Amerijericho a reality, there would be room for all of us to enjoy our lives in peace and contentment.
