Bush: Face-to-face with the Word of the Lord

Posted on Tuesday 13 May 2008

Although he almost certainly does not fully realize the ramifications, US President George W. Bush, who is due to arrive in Jerusalem Wednesday morning on a three-day visit, is set to come face to face with the Word of the Lord concerning the restoration of Israel.

Bush has been scheduled a private viewing Thursday evening of a 2000-year-old scroll containing the entire book of Isaiah.

Virtually every one of Israel’s ancient prophets foretold the dispersion (Diaspora) of the Jews, centuries before it happened in AD 70 and 135.

And virtually every one of Israel’s prophets, from Moses all the way through the Hebrew Scriptures, foretold the restoration of that globally-scattered and universally-persecuted people to the same land from which they were driven, and God’s securing of them as a resurrected nation in that land.

Of all the prophets, Isaiah is most famous for prophesying this physical and spiritual restoration of the Jews.

Among well-known and well-loved passages from that book we have:

Isaiah 11:11-12: It shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people who are left, from Assyria and Egypt, from Pathros and Cush, from Elam and Shinar, from Hamath and the islands of the sea. He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Isaiah 40:1-2: “Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the LORD’s hand double for all her sins.”

And Isaiah 66:7-8: “Before she was in labor, she gave birth; before her pain came, she delivered a male child. Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she gave birth to her children.”

“Coincidentally,” the Isaiah Scroll was the only complete document to survive out of the 220 pieces and parts of parchment discovered at Qumran, near the Dead Sea.

And “coincidentally” the Isaiah scroll was discovered in 1947, the very year when the United Nations voted to accord the Jews - who by then had been returning to the Land of Israel in successive waves of immigration - a state of their own in that land.

Many Bible-believing Christians saw the discovery as a divine sign - a stamp of approval and confirmation, if you like - of Israel’s rebirth.

Because of the Isaiah Scroll’s fragility, Ha’aretz reported Tuesday, the document was only displayed for two years after it had been studied, before being placed in a dark room with temperature and humidity controls, far from the public eye.

It lay there for 40 years, until now.

A few days ago, to celebrate Israel’s 60th anniversary as an independent state, the Israel Museum put the scroll on display.

It will be “out” for just two months.

And George W. Bush, who has personally committed himself to helping remove the Jews from half of this restored land so that a Palestinian state can be erected here, will get to see it.

Of course, the scroll is in ancient Hebrew, which as far as I know Mr. Bush does not read. Hopefully someone in his entourage will explain to him the significance of Isaiah’s words, and the folly and danger of trying to undo them.

Hopefully.

Some people believe that the Christians, believers in Christ, be it Jew or Genitile, are the chosen people, the remnant talked about in Isaiah. They believe that God was speaking to all people, Christians when He gave the land to Israel, Christians.

What are your feelings about this, or what is your answer to these beliefs?

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will faithfully keep His Covenant with them and their descendants, is Israel is His glory. In spite of what the nations will do, the Lord Jesus will come again and establish His Kingdom, He will sit on the Throne of His father David, and of His Kingdom, there shall be no end. Till then, there will be no peace in Israel till the Lord Jesus comes to put an end to the Times of the Gentiles.
    EVEN SO COME LORD JESUS.

Thank you so much for your update from Jerusalem. We must continue to inform and pass on any and all scriptures and updates such as yours to as many people who cross our path one way or another. We have a responsibility to get the Word and words out to enlighten those who are concerned one way or another. The scriptures stir and comfort at the same time. Current events help us to stay focused and vocal for such a time as this. My Trust is in Elohim I know He is Faithful and He changes not… WE all have a part to play..praying, preaching, teaching and serving…excercise your voice for such a time as this…let us continue together with great expectancy and standing with our brothers and sisters in Israel. We must not forget Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem…and do whatever it takes to shout it from the roof tops there is a hope and a future for her…Isaiah 62: 1-4. Hallelujah! Here I am send me!….

As a REAL Born Again Christian, I can say, that I believe President Bush is a Political-Purpose christian, more so, then a REAL Christian. Therefore, it doesn’t surprise me that he doesn’t treat Israel as the Word of God tells him too. I say that I don’t believe he is a REAL Christian , for several reasons . Some of which are ; 1. When he first ran for office, and was asked , Who the most important person was in his life, he satd, ‘ Jesus, Hewas a great philosopher.’, Anyone, that has really met the real Jesus, knows that He is far more then a philosopher. 2. He has stated that, ‘ Jesus is just ONE way to God.’ Any REAL Christian knows, Jesus is the ONLY WAY. So, a REAL Christian would NOT only answer those questions, the way he did, but, also would NOT be going against the Word of God in his dealings with Israel. I believe, early in his life, Bush realized, that if he was going to get anywhere as a Republican, he was going to need the backing of the Christian Community. What better way to get it, then start going to church, try to say what he think REAL Christians would say. Play the game, in other words. Some day, he will meet Jesus, and, finally REALLY BELIEVE !

Bush is definitely without excuse in what he has forced Israel to do by part and parceling the promised land…whether or not he understands or someone explains it to him, he will have come into contact with God’s very words. Our land and people are suffering greatly because of his wrongdoings and that will be added to his sins… God have mercy.

So we watch and wait with baited breath as the world is confronted with yet more disasters. God continues to ask the biggest question in the universe. Why don’t you know me ? And men without God given direction attempt to try to wrestle peace from God through worldly machinations. I hope and pray the president does see and get the message of Isaiah. We need to get about doing the things God wants done and the Devil and the enemy be damned.
We need to consider looking for a heart of flesh. One properly tilled to grow mercy towards God’s chosen land and all of those selected by Him to recieve the promise.
And the earth continues to tremble in the pangs of birth.

After listening to Prof. Richard Krueger about what Revelations shows will yet happen in the last days, and specifically in Israel, I went in our bedroom and picked up the Living Light and read :: ” I have set intercessors on your walls who shall cry to God all day and all night for the fulfilment of his promises.”This showed me that what is prophesied will come to pass, but we are meant to intercede continually. So be it!!!

Everyone’s Invited Except the Owner …..
and that is why ‘Facing Tomorrow’ has FAILURE written all over it.
These haughty leaders all have one thing in common their pride in their importance blinds them to not see that God does NOW rule in the Kingdoms of men.
They are all set for the ultimate fall along with the Prince of this present corrupt world system they serve.
They wrongly assume that with ease they can trample the vineyard of the King without great cost to them ,their nation’s and great wealth.

“Therefore when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine-growers?”

These great ones ,the nobody’s who assumed to be somebody are in for the ultimate shock of their lives.
They bit off more than they can ever chew or swallow and their smug smiles will turn to great sorrow and mourning .

Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another
Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
    Matt 21:33-38

It is my most sincere desire and prayer that when President Bush comes face to face with this holy scroll, written by Isaiah, that the power of God will fall with such might that President Bush will physically be drawn to his knees by the Holy Spirit.

And, that as this happens, a mighty rushing wind will fill this place, all the while the scroll will remain unmovable. I pray that as President Bush tries to get up off of his knees, once again the power of the Most High God will physically hold President Bush on his knees.

I pray that the Most High God will give President Bush a vision of Messiah. That President Bush will see Jesus Christ wearing His prayer shawl. That President Bush will at this moment realize that Jesus is a Jewish Rabbi….

I pray that ALL scales will be removed from President Bush’s eyes, and that he will repent right there and then of his desires to divide Jerusalem, and to give any land that belongs to Israel to anyone else.

I pray that this experience will be “life-changing” for President Bush….I pray that he will remain on his knees and be unable to arise UNTIL the unseen hands of the Most High God HIMSELF lifts him up.

I pray President Bush will be overcome with it all and will weep bitterly over his past actions and desires to divide Jerusalem and give away Israel’s land.

I pray that President Bush will gather his emotions and thoughts together and go before the News Media worldwide and declare that he has been wrong. I pray that he will declare before the whole world that the United States will from this day and time forth never have any more part in pushing Israel’s Prime Minister to divide Jerusalem, nor to give away any land…..

I pray President Bush will publicly, before the media, ask the Jewish People to forgive him for ever having any part in dividing Jerusalem or the giving away of any of Israel’s land.

In the power and the authority of the name of Jesus Christ, I pray this prayer, and I take all power and authority over any and all enemies of Israel who will pray against this coming to pass. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray. amen and amen

Nell, in response to your comment: If what you suggest is true, then God is a liar, who doesn’t, like men, change his mind alter his covenant, despite unfaithfulness on our part. Not to go into a essay on replacement theology, because there is a lot of good information available, but this is what I believe you are supporting. However, the people who left Egypt were not all Jews, they were a mixed multitude, and I believe that a non-Jew can join themselves to the covenant and blessing of the Jewish people, and receive the persecution and hatred of the world towards the Jewish people also.

WE are all concerned His Word says that which concerns you I am perfected…if this is Truth …we must walk in forgiveness and forgive those who are making statements out of ignorance, forgive them for they know not what they do. Let us surrender them into the Hands of the Almighty Elohim…and pray that they receive a revelation and a hunger for what the Living Torah speaks about the Land of Israel. We who stand with Israel know what the Word says..people need to listen, hear what the Word says about the consequences of dividing the Land…hopefully President Bush is wrestling with his legacy goal and leave a legacy of repentance and humble himself by admitting he has said words that are damaging and against the command of the God of Israel. Please forgive, please pray, please encourage one and all to repent and show people in His Word what is clearly stated about dividing the land and also the hope and future for Israel and the Everlasting Covenant the Elohim has with Israel. YHVH waves His mighty hand against those who touch the apple of His eye. I believe we are seeing His hand .
Let us stand together and Love YHVH with all our heart , mind and strength and love our neighbor as ourselves. If we love Him we will obey Him and if we believe His Word let us be doers…until…HIs return and let us be found faithful…

Nell, those who believe in replacement theology refuse to seperate the physical nation of Israel from the spiritual Israel through Christ. They tend to spiritualize the scriptures that speak of physical Israel. Its important to read scriptures in context and literally to know the difference. The earliest christian fathers held onto hope that one day Israel would be a nation again. Somewhere along the way the Church lost faith in this promise and thus created the replacement theology. They erased all distinctions between physical and spiritual Israel. It is very hard to explain this to those in the replacement camp. I am praying for you to have wisdom and knowledge in this matter and that your son’s eyes will be opened to see the truth. Be assured in your own heart, first, praying for God to help you to know without doubting. Then pray for God’s help as you show your son His Word of truth. My heart aches for those who believe such heresy as this, and I pray that they would have the eyes of their understanding opened. Even though I doubt Bush is a true christian, I do believe his beliefs is of this awful replacement theology, which causes such stubborn blindness. May God open his eyes as he looks upon the Scroll. Nothing is impossible with God.

There are 66 chapters in Isaiah, just like there are 66 books in the bible, I consisder Isaiah a mini bible, everything we need to know is in there!!!. It would be so incourageing if President Bush would speak the truth and declare Jesus as the way the truth and the life and the “only” way to God the Father ( John 14:6 ) WE are in the last days!. As true christains we need one another in Hebrews 10:24&25 it instructs us to “….. consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting: which means (give warnings or advice : make urgent appeals to) one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching”. We are in crucial times, it is just about time for the true church to be caught up to be ever with tour Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. Stan I am using your reports to exhort our congregation here in Maryland. Thank You and “Keep up the good work”!!

    Nell,
I hope the two other comments helped you some. The is truly a question that needs to be addressed, because I believe there are many good intentioned, but misinformed Christians with the same question. Some stories Jesus gave were parables or allegories, but He explained the true meaning to His own. At what point are you going to decide what it truth? Some say there was no virgin birth, it just meant a young girl. If one doesn’t accept the truth of a virgin meaning litterally a virgin, then you can’t accept and receive the deity fo Jesus through the Immaculate Conception through the Holy Spirit–He would be “just anothe man!” Not True. That’s just one simple example. The Word talks many places about Israel’s downfall, captivity, and restoration. If you closely study the scriptures, you can follow all of these events. Often times our history books will bear them out to be true, also. We Christians were adopted, through the shed blood of Jesus, bought with a price, grafted into the vine. Jesus said that if we, being a wild branch, are able to be grafted in and prosper–how much more so when the original branches are grafted in again. Read the Word, Don’t listen to some man, who gives his opinion, and expects everyone to accept his line. Read the Word, I say again, and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the Truth to you. I don’t believe He will fail you, for He Is Fairhfull.

Those who choose to blind their eyes to God’s truth, and close their ears to God’s Word, often end up becoming hardened even more to God’s truth. Remember Pharoah of Egypt, who after many mighty miracles and signs, still refused to let the Israelites leave his land. He finally released them only to chase madly after them to trap them at the Red Sea. Then…….the Almighty really showed His power by parting the sea for all the people to cross over. When Pharoah and his army tried to pursue them, he and his army, horses and chariots were engulfed and drowned. King Saul hardened his heart to God’s chosen replacement, David, the shepherd boy to the point of trying to kill him. Saul was killed in battle while David was annointed King of Israel. God’s choice.
I guess my point is that even though Bush comes face to face with the ancient sacred scroll of Isaiah, I would not be surprised if his heart becomes even more hardened to promote his “legacy” of “birthing the state of Palestine”.
Whatever happens, as always, may God’s will be done. May our wills align themselves with God’s will only.

I have waited patiently for those of us in America to awaken and realize that the so called “Christian” republican party is in fact as much to blame as the evil twin demacrats for what has came of this country. as for Israel… The land is the sole property of the Israelites directly decinded of Abram whom God renamed Abraham (english translation) and therefore Bush will cause America to pay a price for His participation in the stealing away of part of this countries land. Please pray for full restoration for Israel of all her lands and for the peace ,,,, true peace for her peoples. America has led for a number of years a policy of nation building and everry time we have it has bit us in the rear for our policy while at the time seemingly good has always reaped us a disaster.. WE built up Iran… We built up Iraq to handle Iran after we made them too big for their britches… America was attacked on 9-11 by a group who were of the majority Arab decent … i believe it was 11 of the 14 attackers.. yet we listen still to the liar who told us about the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. as for God in our nations policies and in our Government.. we were founded by a group of men who openly praised God and mandated that God and His commandments be the basis for our bill of rights. now finally i give you this as a final topic to think on… the majority of the supreem court in America who have been at the root of all the removal of God form our government and our schools were and still are of REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL APPOINTMENT.. AMERICA needs to drop the republican and demacrats out on their ears and kick them to the curb and bring in Godly peoples who have Godly principles and Godly outlines for our policies in dealing with the world. Then and only then will God return to blessing our nation ..

    An interesting thought ~
Hey, Study about Balaam – the Gentile prophet in Numbers 22, 23, 24. G. W. and his team are doing the exact same thing (in a similar way) and bringing the same trouble on themselves. When we first see Balaam, God had just moved His chosen people, Israel, out of Egypt and they were headed toward the Promised Land! But evil spirits tried to convince this Gentile to try to curse Israel for money, but God wouldn’t let him speak curses against Israel, only blessings. But since Balaam still wanted the money, he found another way to hurt Israel and God had him killed with the sword in Numbers 31:8. God describes Balaam’s error in 2nd Peter 2:14-15 and and Jude 11. “They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. 15They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness.” (2nd Peter 2:14-15) We need to study Balaam’s example and how he got himself in so much trouble with God, because the Elitists have gotten themselves in the same trouble.

Great point, Steven H.! Fits perfectly concerning the speech President Bush gave at the Knesset. His speech was as if he was saying for Israel to get rid of the terrorists in Gaza and the West Bank, yet I couldn’t help thinking how he is not truly supportive of it. And Olmert is a compromised leader who does little to nothing to defend Israel. Has he been so bribed, so compromised, that he fears what dirt will be revealed if he does retaliate against the Hamas big time? Many Israelis are wondering this.

I heard a statement some time in the last year that still leaves me wondering. Someone said that the Bush guys were having a problem with Israel . The problem was that on the world political scene it was hard to be more Jewish in their stance than Israel. I took this to mean that if the government in Israel was only willing to go this far it was very difficult for the U.S. to go further. This would of course be in response to terrorists, dividing the land, neighbor governments. I think the govenrment in Israel is absolutely due for a change and think that Israel has missed an opportunity with this administration that may be a long time coming. Any thoughts ?

Just as G_d, commissioned Moses to lead the nation of Israel from Egyptian captivity, G_d also devised the commission I believe of what Israel terms today as Aliyah. The act of re-emigration to one’s promised home land. The Covenant G_d gave his people of deliverance from Egypt is as valid as his promise to Israel for a homeland equal in size to every place on earth’s surface were the Father of the Nation of Israel, Abraham walked. Now as I recall Abraham was not confined to just Samaria, Judea, the West Bank, Gaza Strip; but moved his family with his herds of livestock from the shores of the Mediterranean to the coast of the Perdian Gulf; as far north as the coastal regions of the Black Sea along the Caucasus Mountains & most of present day Turkey; Eastward to at a minimum the Tigris/Euphrates rivers; and that doesnt count the unrecorded areas where he walked now does it. For all we know Abraham may very well have migrated over the areas of Greater Iran, Iraq, and as far east as Pakistan and India. I challenge anybody to show proof that Abraham was limited in his migrations during his time to only those areas of proper Israel mitigated on today’s maps. After all wasnt Abraham the father of more than one nationality?

    Nell,

What you are referring to is known as “replacement theology”. It is a false theology which has no besis in the written Word of God. We are a grafted branch, not the “tree”.

With respect to what Stan wrote, I don’t hold out much hope that the folly and danger of giving away what God has given to Israel in eternal Covenant will be avoided by this President or the current Congress, or Europe, Israel and the nations for that matter - much to the great detriment of all, particularly America.

The prophetic Word of God on these “last days” matters repeatedly emphasizes that there is an “appointed time”, with the implied meaning of a scheduled time which God has always known, even from the foundations of the earth, and has revealed in advance the results of said human folly, which is in essense the exercise of human free will over His Sovereignty.

God’s Will shall be done. There is no question about this.

When Mr. Bush first had his hand in removing Jews, I wrote him and asked “WHAT ARE YOU DOING??”..and quoted God’s Word regarding their perfectly described land. Then Katrina hit. I became fearful of many of his decisions, as I, too, had such a faith in him at first.
There’s only ONE to have faith in, and God of Israel says what He says and means what He says. I thank God for Israel so much!

The endtime biblical prophecies indicate that God’s people- the nation Israel will be restored but politically and economically, that is why its going to be the point of attraction but to the Arab world, European Union and Russian and the Anti-Christ who will emaniate from the Arab world. God will restore Israel and United State will be the instrument of the restoration.

Israel belongs to the Lord, Maker of Heaven and Earth, Who in His way has reached out via His Spirit, His Miracles, His guidance, His Holy Word, and most recently, as Christians believe, His Son, not 3 gods but 1 God Who expresses Himself in 3 ways to humanity in an attempt to try and reach their hearts.
He is not a man that He should lie, and if He says His Israel will be the home of His chosen people, then that is how it will be.
The Bible clearly states that at one point Israel will stand alone - by which I would think is meant, with no political allies, so that she may know her salvation is from the Lord alone. But what will happen to our nation for betraying Israel…and what will happen depending on who wins our political election in November, has the potential to be far worse than what even President Bush is doing in trying to keep peace in the Middle East. He doesn’t get it - THAT’S NOT HIS JOB, IT’S THE LORD’S JOB! His job is the same job all believers have - to worship God in the beauty of holiness, to glorify Him forever, to obey Him no matter how we might think we know better (and how arrogant are we to think we know better than the God Who created us?). That means President Bush and succeeding US Presidents have one main job, whether or not they take it or believe it, as outlined above. That job will NEVER EVER include giving God’s land to anyone - it’s not ours to give.
No matter what our leaders do, though, Israel, please know that you do have the love and support of individuals all over the world who know the truth. And that we will do what we can to help.

You know, I used to pray that G_D would forgive us as a nation. But now ,with the absolutely idiotic, anti-Israeli legislation [dividing Jerusalem] going against them from Our own country; I don’t see how G_D in HIS righteousness could do nothing but judge us! Forgive us Israel! You have many, many friends still over here, regardless of our heathen government! I’m sorry ISRAEL for the politics of our country used as a leverage against you.!!! Please know the people of this nation DO support you. But remember, THE LORD is your salvation.. Psalms 122:6

The Chosen People are the descendents of Abraham - The Jews. The land was given to them alone. God has spoken, it is recorded in The Bible.
    TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
